While browsing the forums I had the thought that I'd really like to be able to subscribe to forum sections to get an alert when a new thread is posted. Just like for threads, but for the forum category itself~!

it'd be very useful in art forums, ppl can get notifications when a brand new art shop is opened, very much like we are living on the same street, you walk down the road and you can see which shop is doing the interior and which one is newly opened ;)

i think it's a great idea! i'm not sure if i'd use it a lot, or in what scenario i might use it, but i can see how helpful it could potentially be.

I would love this. I would personally find it especially helpful in the adoption forum when I'm looking to adopt a new pet from another user, as a number of people do not ping groups when they make their posts there. Subscribing to the forum and getting pings about new threads means I wouldn't miss out on applying for a new pet I'd love to have! I think this would be helpful in lots of other forum categories too, like the art forums and cw forums, because most new threads are made by users that are new to that forum, many of whom don't know which preexisting groups to ping in order to get their shop noticed and off the ground.
