Hello hello! I am a Mori Girl irl, and I'm looking for inspiration for future Mori Girl themed HAs. I am a returning user and am not up to date on the clothing that is available, and I'm looking for clothing that fits this style in particular.

What is Mori Kei? Mori Kei is a Japanese Street fashion described as "Looking like a girl who wanders through the forest". It has its base in fairytales-- women living in storybook cottages in the woods, befriending animals.

The style is based on the idea of layers, lace, and frills. Usually it consists of a long maxi skirt (Often patchwork or asymmetrical hems), a basic midi dress (or long tunic blouse) and sweaters and shawls. Footwear is ALWAYS round-toed and usually closed toed and flat (such as flats, mary janes, and boots). Those are usually layered with leggings (floral and patchwork), boot socks, or leg warmers. Colors are usually neutrals and earthen tones, though there's a use of peaches, pinks, pastel greens, and pastel blues on occasion. Materials that are often used in Mori Kei are linens, cottons, and crocheted accessories with touches of vintage lace and wooden buttons. It is also baggy (not form fitting ((usually)) and very modest (the most skin I've seen is from sleeveless sun-type dresses and tunics during the summer)

Hairstyles are more natural and "messy", most often in messy braids. The ideal hair colors are browns and reds.

Makeup is more "natural" and doll-like. Blushes are peachy and usually cover the cheeks and bridge of the nose to mimic cold. Freckles are encouraged. Eyeshadows are natural colors but CAN be more dramatic: Oranges, browns, golds, greens, peaches. Lips are more muted (beigy or peach) Other styles that are similar is the German Lagenlook or "layered" style, the American Shabby Chic, Strega or witch style, and other Japanese fashions such as Natural Kei, Classic Lolita, and Dolly kei. Other people refer to this style as "attractive grandma style", "forest witch style", or "forest girl style"

Woodland animals, leaves, and mushroom imagery is very often used as well. For a dark alternative imagery such as skulls, antique glass bottles, and moons and stars are used.

I have found that a lot of Esther's clothing and Skitters Underground Clothing fits the mold. Check them out!

Edit: I am aware there are a lot of Custom Items that may work, but I'm going to try to stick to main Subeta stuff ^^

Will update as time goes on. Feel free to share away!!

Here! Sort of... My HA is usually very folk-European which tends to get more mori-esque in the fall/winter when I begin layering more. Private OutfitOutfit Not FoundPrivate Outfit Thanks for the list! I love to use that toadstool or other bloomers/petticoats underneath shorter skirt to layer.

There are actually a lot of subeautique lines with your general asthetic: all the Verdi lines some of the Mimi Moe and Lililace lines and the Giselle Rosebud,Kore Woodland and Bow-E Peyote lines fit your asthetic pretty well. also:

I love the mori girl style but I've never tried to mirror it on Subeta - all these items have inspired me to give it a go.

I love this so much ^^ thank you for sharing and educating us about Mori Kei/ Forest Girl Aesthetic<3

Although not fully the same, I have been obsessed with the older European, Japanese Lolita and Dolly fashion since forever! Subeta is the only place I get to translate these energies into fullblown outfits <3

I know these are totally different from the aesthetic you were saying but here are a few of my outfits ^^ Private Outfit Private Outfit Private Outfit

And as Anoniemmus said I think a few of the Subeautique designers have some awesome pieces that definitely fit into forest girl theme <3 a few of my fave pieces:

I've not heard of this aesthetic before, but it looks like they are using a sepia filter and y'all are having difficulty recreating the "softness" and "browns" that are a result of that? Perhaps some of these could help? etc.

Other items that are reminiscent of the look to me are:

I am very happy to share!!

I started as a Lolita IRL, but it transitioned to Mori Girl because I was 1. A starving college student/newlywed who couldn't afford coords and 2. Started my own business where I would work from home, so needed to wear more comfy clothes I was less afraid to get dirty. It worked out!!

Adding your items to the masterlist! <3
