In the spirit of Morostide, let me hear some spooky suggestions on how Subeta could be WORSE.

• All cash shop items are released through gatchas
• No wardrobe organization
• You have to keep all your pets fed or certain site features aren't available
• Quick stock breaks, forcing you to move items one at a time

a max of four pets with no way to get more slots.

Every item turned into a "scribble" style.

Not being able to buy CSC or Cash Shop items with sP.

It's not something I often do myself, but I love that Subeta has that option.

This used to be a thing. If your pets weren't taken care, you could't use the wardrobe. IIRC, trying to access it while your pets were neglected resulted in your HA getting a little makeover letting everyone know what a bad pet owner you were.

Lol I thought it was actually pretty funny. Subeta was primarily a pet site, after all, so it seemed kind of fitting, especially since you just need a paltry sum of sP to keep them all fed. It was glitched though so it would go onto people even if they fed their pets so it was removed, afaik.

Anyways.... Scary stories? If the # chan attacks happened again, or the issue that happened when subeta went from .org to .net.

The # chan attacks happened because of a "longcat" item which was misrepresented to be sold for profit, which upset a lot of people on 4chan, 420chan, etc, so they started to attack the site (or, they just did it for the lulz). Subeta used to be far less stable back in the day than it is now, so the attacks were really deliberating, and they started to spam the entire site with gore and porn. I got comments on my profile with someone's head exploded, which I think was a real photo... and I know people who were sent comments that had such large file sizes it would cause their browser to crash. Eventually it stopped, and the long cat item was changed into... draconis or something like that.

The .org to .net change was a tough one, but the tl;dr is that the site was entirely hijacked. The "actual" site was really difficult to find, and you had to use a number in the URL to access it. This went on for... months? It was super hectic. The only reason I came across the alternative url was because a bunch of people were trying to spread it on deviantart so we could have access to our accounts and Keith could get the support he really, really needed. Eventually the .org site went down, and subeta.net became the new primary domain for subeta and Keith reclaimed the .org site (though I haven't visited it in forever, so I'm not sure if it's really supported anymore?)

Sometimes I remember these things, and... man. I am so glad that was so long ago, I really hope nothing like that happens again.

Lol well Neopets has been having "community updates" lately where a staff member answers questions without really saying much of anything.

At least here staff try to keep us informed. Even if it's not always perfect, it's still miles ahead of some other sites.

-Limited vault. -Quests sucking. -Over the top censoring of what can be said/talked about (I do not miss when 11yo me had to send my MSN e-mail through morse code to my Neofriends). -Stagnant site - no improvement or addition of anything to make it better or more convenient. No events too.

-only base recolours for pet colours -not being able to customise profiles in any way

• being sold to a soulless big company with canned responses, if you even get a response . . . lel
• losing pet personality thru art by redrawing them all into the same pose then making another wardrobe system for pets
• pet page customization is through limited bbcode only, no css
• limited where you only get a certain number of actions a day before you can't do anything
• classic pay2win response
• strong and ruthless filters that don't care about context
• limited vault with increased space with a GA so that if you fill that GA space then the GA runs out you literally can't do anything until you move like 100+ items out so that you can use your vault again (coughrunescapecough)

yeah all of these are actual things that other sites/games do.

my favorite thing about this site is that because it's small and fairly close-knit the staff are personable and responsive. Large sites I always feel like I'm talking to a robot. If I even get a reply, like I said. everything else that subeta just does right is fantastic.

Who were you on Gaia? I was Valiska Pines and released a bunch of custom items until they devalued the currency AGAIN and started the gatcha thing. I log on once in a while because I have a truly awesome wardrobe there, but... SIGH. It's too expensive.
