A friend of mine recently joined the site. While I can easily give her my extras, etc. what she really needs is a source to see what is available so she knows what she wants. SubetaLodge is overwhelming -- there are simply too many things available to make sense of any of it. Not to mention the hazard of falling for CWs and then getting discouraged at prices. Even the shops on site are scattered all over, open seasonally, and the basic NPC shops are often sold out -- so she can't see what each shop potentially has.

So I thought perhaps other users could share the wardrobe staples they rely upon. That way she can begin to lay down the bare bones of her wardrobe as she familiarizes herself with the site.

there are none. Really, there are so many options for the wardrobe that, personally, I think the best way to go about it is to figure out your 'style' and work from there.

Does she like "girly"? Would she rather focus on male HAs? Does she like gory? Or pretty? Does she like a certain fandom?

I feel the single best way to see what's out there is to do quests. You get asked for a wide variety of items. You'll eventually get a good sense of the types of items out there.

Also as a new user its always a great idea to get the Sarah quests done, since there's no sP limit for new users.

the sui stuff in general is pretty affordable, all the eyeshadows and liners.

+ other than the black pair there are like 40+ other colors + others, the black pair is less than 100k but still up there in price + some of the others + other colors + colors ...apparently I really just like the flats lol

Those are a really great shoe option because there are also the trim2fit decal sheets that can add a nice variety to them

I also like the jeans that you can buy from the clothing rack

and recolors- this Sunny one was the first background I ever had and I used it lots! and recolors I still use, and they're super cheap. In addition (without linking them all) Breathmints are excellent mouth items in a variety of expressions. They're all pretty cheap too! I love fantasy avatars, so I'd be lost without and . The second one has a lot of recolors but I wouldn't buy them yet- Morostide's coming up and you can get these guys trick or treating. I guess more than any specific items, my advice is: keep an eye out for events. They release lovely items whenever a new event comes out, often in multiple colours, and I end up using those all the time.

This thread is an amazing idea though- we need a thread for "this item is both super affordable and super useful" the way Gaia has, maybe in Human Avatars or something.

These are just my personal cheap staples! I agree with that it probably differs depending on what kind of HAs your friend prefers to make, but I always have these in my Wardrobe.
