Hey, I just made a post on a forum group forum that when I posted it appeared completely blank.

But when I go to edit the post, all the contents are still there.

Some info about the post:

  • contains custom titled spoiler
  • contains a code block with a lot of text in it, and some image and url links
  • starts with a ping
  • i tried to preview it before posting, the preview was blank
  • i tried twice to post it with more content in the post, both times it was over 6k characters, on the third try it was short enough to post
  • i double checked all the sCode, it seems to be correct
  • when i try to preview from editing mode, the preview is also blank there
  • using an older version of google chrome (not much older, though. a few versions ago)
  • there are plenty other posts in this topic which contain content similar to mine, and this glitch seems to be specific to me

help?

[edit] I solved it with the help of my techie datemate! We troubleshooted it and found that there is a character limit on what can be in a code box. I was able to make the post after removing the code box (and the preview worked when the post did). As an alternative, I just posted a link to a google doc with the code pasted there. This limit is far under the 6k limit for posts, though I'm not exactly sure where it is. Thought y'all would want to know about it, and that it's causing blank posts.
