Punctuation in shop cathegories names?

Hey! Why ":" is not allowed? My "Event Extras" gallery has plenty of categories with ":", but I tried to move new addings to them now and it give me an error. I wasnt on site for some months, so I would like to ask, what changed and why ":" isnt working?
Category names can only contain letters, numbers, and the following punctuation: spaces( ), dashes(-), underscores (_), commas (,) and exclamations (!)

I really have no idea. Same thing happened to my shop category names. If I had to guess I'd say it was a security measure.
Fortunately, its easy enough to change the category names and anything currently in those categories will remain. Then you can add more stuff.

A lot of special characters were causing glitches. It was safest to whitelist characters for now. I'd like to implement categories in a way that will allow us to remove these limitations, but I'm afraid with the way it's currently implemented, that it isn't possible without causing issues.
