Professor Brookvale had a big surprise for everyone as the term neared it's conclusion. A Summer yacht party.
The invitations said: Come for a little water cruise and fun after stress of exams.
To ensure you are as comfortable as possible during your travels, we recommend bringing the following additional items:
• Sun block (SPF 30+), hats and sunglasses ((Professor Norman can help with sun-blocking charms as well.))
• Water proof Insect repellent ((Again Professor Norman can assist.))
• Swim suits
• Pets welcome but with care.
Once all the students were gathered at the entrance hall at 8am on 1 September, they all took a portkey to arrive at the dock, and discovered a lovely yacht in front of them.
"I hope you are as excited as I am," Professor Brookvale said. "Now, for those of you who don't know, this is a yacht which is a water vessel created by muggles mostly for entertainment. Cruise ships are basically the same things, but yachts offer privacy. So we chartered this super yacht. Which has lots of activities available. Your chaperones will help you if you need anything at all. Boy's dorms are on the second deck, girls on the third deck and yes, there is a member of staff stationed at the entrance of each dorm portion of the decks. All of the hired staff are wizard and witches so magic is allowed. The ballroom has a breakfast buffet ready for all and you can take your food and drink around wherever you like. All snack bars have an array of yummy drinks and food. just ask the staff member there. Oh and this is a dry ship, meaning there's no alcohol. Madam Glas will be stationed in the hospital on the water deck if anyone is in need of assistance. If she's not there, a staff member will signal her. If you have any questions at all, please feel free to ask."

Rosemarie Müller looked just under 11 and was already on the ship looking very nervous. Her left eye was greyish blue and her right eye was green. Her hair cascaded down her back and her lips had a cute little natural pout to them. She'd been given permission to come and join the party before she came to Hogwarts at the start of the following term. 'I hope my English is good enough,' she thought as the professor talked to the students. ((Her info is in the student registry if anyone wants to see the new student.))
Blade Edwards was still settling into Hogwarts but seemed to have made some friends despite the turbulence. It didn't help he'd acted odd about something in Hogsmede and since then hadn't really spoken about it. He looking forward to coming, if for nothing else than the chance to be in a room by himself for a span and to play with the mobile phone his grandfather sent him. He had his cat, hedgehog and pygmy puff with him. Mavis, the owl, stayed behind.
Zoe was looking forward to the trip as she wanted to have fun with her friends and blow off some steam for the end of the term.
Magnus was likewise thrilled to have down time.
"'ello Blade," Sauvage asked as she walked up. "'ow 'ave you been?" She was genuinely concerned and respected whatever Blade chose (or chose not) to say as far as what had occurred back in Hogsmeade. She felt that as least knowing people who were around him cared about his situation would make Blade feel somewhat secure.
Sauvage also took note of someone with pinkish hair. She smiled welcoming the new face and giving them a slight wave.
"BOAT PARTY!!!!" Jona roared as he ran, arms wide open towards Zoe to give her a hug.
"Hey," Blade said. "Doing alright, and yourself? Cool hair. You excited for this er thing?" Sometimes he just felt rather awkward and wasn't really sure how to act around her-- heck around anyone really.
Rosemarie smiled at the wave and nervously came towards the older girl and the good looking red head boy. "Hall-o," she said with a thick German accent, "I am called Rosemarie. How do you? It is a pleas-ure to meet you."
Blade recognised the accident. He said in German, "My name is Blade."
Rosemarie didn't expect that and smiled. "I must practice my English. It's not so good."
Zoe giggle and twirled Jona for the heck of it. "I'm so excited. We'll have a blast!"
She thanked Blade for the compliment. "I do not know 'ow someone could not be excited. We are on a boat wiv all zhese activities available and, well...they made sure zat zhere will be no sleepovers between ze boys and girls, but I am sure we will all still be able to 'ave some fun despite zat." Sauvage laughed but would be lying if she said she had not been looking forward to privacy with a certain boy (). "Anyway, what are you looking forward to do 'ere?"
Sauvage smiled when Blade and Rosemarie seemed to hit it off so nicely upon first meeting one another "Nice to meet you, Rosemarie. I am Sauvage. Where eez it zat you live in Germany? I am curious."
Jona jumped around as he took in all that surrounded him. "I'm just not sure what we should start with! What do you think, Zoe?"
"I never knew what a boat really was," Blade said somewhat quietly. "Yes, they did seem to cover that. Though I guess couples may kiss in the library or...something." He blushed at the word kiss since he'd just recently had his first kiss with Nimah (()) and was still trying to work out what was going on. "Er, well I don't know what half of these activites are... but I would like to play with my new Itone." He didn't realise he said the wrong word.
"Are you French? I speak French," Rosemarie said. "Cologne. We have a farm. And you?"
-- I wanna check the ship out... then breakfast and then maybe play in the water," Zoe said grinning from ear to ear.
Not really knowing what he was talking about (regarding the "Itone"), Sauvage simply politely shrugged and smiled. "I 'ave been on ze boats a few times before," she said. "But never anysing as grand as zis one." She noticed his blush at the word kiss, but knew nothing of the reason. It did make here curious, though...
"Ah, oui, I am French! You speak it?" Sauvage excitedly slipped into her mother tongue with Rosemarie, feeling far more comfortable. Normally she spoke a bit stiffly, due to the language barrier, but in French she was fluid and flirty and most important - confident. She said: "My grandmother has a plot of land in Marseilles, so we all live with her. We do a lot of gardening and we have some winged horses, too; but there is nothing to the extent of farming where I live. I've been to Germany once or twice before, but both times were just over in Berlin. If you are from Germany, why are you attending Hogwarts, if you don't mind my asking?"
"Well, let's go, dude! I'm already in my swim trunks!" Jona moved his hips from side to side in mock seduction. We can make it a race to look at everything in the ship, then grab a bite to re-energize, then awaaaaaay into the poooool we go!" And before Zoe could even agree to the race, Jona's internal cannon blared and he was running.
((OOC: Which deck is everyone starting out on? That way I know in which direction the lil rugrat is gonna run first lol))
Fade had grown up in the Muggle world, but never had the opportunity to attend anything as posh as a Yacht Club Party. Thankfully traveling there by portkey was only mildly nauseating. After depositing his belongings into his designated room he skipped down to the main lobby to see if he couldn’t find some of his friends. He really wanted to explore every inch of the ship to find the most prime locations to deposit the devious treats he brought along. Nothing too terrible, he didn’t want anyone getting sick, but just devious enough to get a laugh out of someone.
In the lobby he found a board with planned activities. Going out on a Jet Ski was always something he had wanted to do. Parasailing also sounded like a ton of fun. A familiar voice caught Fade’s attention toward the front doors. Jona always knew how to make the most impactful entrance. With a wide grin Fade trotted over toward the group gathering. “Heya.” He said to the group, and winked at Sauvage playfully. She was speaking with a girl with bright pink hair who he hadn’t met yet. "Hey Mags, I brought something I need to show you later." The other boy probably knew it was something to do with mischief, but if anyone asked Fade would pretend it was art related.
Niamh had decided to leave her pets back at Hogwarts for this trip. She knew they'd be fine, and was hopeful they'd get themselves into less trouble than they possibly could on the yacht. Speaking of which, she turned to look at the ship in amazement. She'd seen yachts before, when the millionaire muggles had brought their fancy boats to Egypt in the summer, but she'd never seen one like this before. She looked around, wondering who was about, and tried to figure out what to do first - there was just too much choice to make an easy decision.
--
Paddy looked at the incredible yacht, and felt out of her depth (pun intended). it was only a month or so ago that she'd had her first visit to the beach, and now she was on a huge boat? She'd been on a rowing boat a few times with her Uncle before, when he'd decided it would be fun to take a trip up the river, so she was reasonably comfortable on water - juts not on something so big. "How do Muggles make this thing float," she muttered to herself, as she looked around. Seeing how opulent everything looked, she was pleased she'd left her pets at Hogwarts. Remus and Snowden would've been too eager to chew all the plush chairs and carpets.

((OOC: the water level deck is where they are all at now before dispersing.))
"It does look very swank," Blade replied. As the two started speaking French, he slipped off to drop his pets and things off in his room.
Rosemarie's eyes widened and she replied in French. "Winged horses? Oh my word that would be amazing. I love horses. I have two, a mini horse named Carmine and a grey Holsteiner named Charlie. I do show jumping and other competitions all the time. In fact, I even teach some people to ride when they come to our farm. Carmine's potty trained as well. She lives inside and is about the size of a medium dog. I have a harness and lead to take her on walks. Berlin is lovely. Oh well, I haven't decided which school to go to yet... but Durmstrang Institute is out because they don't take muggle borns." She felt her cheeks blush. "So it is Beauxbatons or Hogwarts. The staff let me come to this mingle so I could see what the students were like. Why aren't you at Beauxbatons?"
Zoe laughed. There were times she had no idea how to curb the energy Jona had--as if she really would want to. "Alright, but I'll have to change first as I do nee have my suit on."
Rosemarie waved shyly to the boy with pretty blue hair. Then she realised he was winking at Sauvage and blushed.
Magnus smirked as Fade spoke, confident it was pranks and not art. "Oh good I 'ave some things as well." He smiled to Paddy. "Bring your wet suit?"
Blade returned to the deck with his trunks and a tank top on. He started looking around. Should he find Nimah and Toru? Or just go off on his own?
"Hey Magnus," Paddy replied, "as if I'd forget my wetsuit! I thought I'd bring it just in case, seeing as I didn't know what kind of activities there'd be. What're you going to do first, do you think?"
Niamh wandered over to the equipment hire area to see what kind of things there were. Looking down the list on the wall, she thought that paddleboarding sounded like it could be fun, although she hoped another student might join her as she didn't want to attempt that on her own.

"Good. Cos they got a lot of things we can do in the ocean and there's a pool too!" Magnus said brightly. "Hmm good question. I think I wanna do the pairasailing or swim first. It's a bit overwhelming since they got so much to do, but I wanna do it all!"
Blade didn't spot Nimah, so he started to look around the first deck of the ship.
Jona heard something about Zoe needing her swimsuit, but he was already several feet away. "Meet you at the snack bar in T minus fifteen minutes!" His voice echoes as he was off and away down the hall and bustling passed the - was that a movie theater?? No! Jona shook his head to avoid distractions, now making his way beyond a fancy looking ballroom.
@/Raven Sauvage smiled warmly at Fade as he winked at her. She blew him a kiss in response, whispering a little charm under her breath so that Fade could feel her lips against his cheek, hear the sound of her lips smack. A small imprint of a lipstick kiss formed on his cheek and then faded after a few brief moments. It was a cute little charm, one that her mom often did with her dad. She waited to see his reaction before turning back and continuing her conversation with Rosemarie, never noticing the girl's shy wave and momentary embarassment.
She stuttered a moment and fell back into English. "Sorry, deed you say, er, mini 'orses? Zhose exist? Bizarre." Sauvage was a bit flabbergasted for the moment, but returned to her senses and to French at the mention of Beauxbatons. "Oh, well, I did go to Beauxbatons until my third year. But then my parents moved to London for a year because my mother got a job with the Ministry there. So I started attending Hogwarts, but about a year after that, my grandmother started having trouble getting around the house so my mom took her old job back in Montpelier and we moved back. However, I have found that I really like it here, so I decided to keep attending." She could not help but glance back at Fade, this time blood rushing to spread across her cheeks. "I like the people here."

Elizabeth looked over the small crowd of students, gathering and chatting. It was a beautiful day and a nice breeze was in the air. Instead of sun block, she had used a spell to repel the sunlight from her skin as that one has worked well at the beach before. She had little interest in going swimming or any activity in the water at all. Maybe some dancing could be nice, later. It had been a bit of a challenge to find something simple in her wardrobe that would stil fit the occasion. Still, she felt a bit overdressed, but shook these thoughts off. Zoe's hair () was always easy to spot, but there was another girl, much younger, with pink hair. She seemed to be a bit shy, though. Elizabeth looked at her hands. All of her belongings she brought with her were stored in the room she occupied. Her pet snakes were staying at Hogwarts though, as such a party would be too stressful for them.

Lorcan was always in for dressing simple - that's what living on an island had taught him. He wondered what this event would be like as he was mostly rather for himself. He sometimes saw posh people on their own yachts driving close to the coast, but he'd never been on one of these boats. Occasionally, he accompanied an older fisherman on a little old boat. He enjoyed that. This boat here though...was almost too big and spacious for his own taste.
(and all)
Rosemarie felt awkward as Sauvage magically planted a kiss on the blue haired boy. She nodded when the girl asked if she said mini horse. She pulled out her phone and showed her.
“This is Carmine. Isn’t she pretty?” she replied in English. “Flying horses sound bizarre to me. Mum and Dad said I can get a magical animal to come with me… but I don’t know what yet.” She switched back to French when the other girl did. “It’s nice you were able to help your grandmother as well as go to the school you enjoy.”
Meanwhile, Jona is still running about looking at everything there is to see. He's determined to know about ever corner of this place before anyone else.
Zoe had yet to find Jona but now stopped at the ballroom to eat. She was starving.
Paddy stared at Magnus, "ok, I give in, what on earth is Parasailing?"
--
Niamh grew tired of waiting for another student to appear, and wondered if there was either a staff member, or someone from the yacht who could explain how the paddleboards worked. She didn't want to look a complete fool by doing it wrong.

"Hello Ms," a friendly man in a white uniform said suddenly appearing. "Did you need some help or want to try one of our activities?"
@/Raven Jona had already explored the second deck and was passing the girls' dorms on the third floor when his growling stomach reminded him that there should be a snack bar in the area. He stopped there to wait for Zoe.
