I love the custom side bar to the right of the screen. Really to the point that if I add any more links over there it would probably start to get too cluttered. But right across the top of the screen there is a big empty space that would be perfect for customizable drop down menus in addition to the current menus (Subeta, Interact, Commerce, Personal, Cash Shop).
In case people are wondering what kind of links I use to need that much space for links I have:
Common shop search search (Mage amulets, tomes, stat boosters) Links to switch active pets for BQs Links to feed pets with an infinity berry locked in my inventory Links to heal my pets without making several additional clicks through to the healer Links to switch between default Sets and default scroll sets. A few common places to visit: Frag, BHH, Mage
Obviously this functionality can be created with just using my brower bar, but really its getting pretty full too since many of these links are currently on my browser bar.
Having a little more space to play with custom links that follow around to different browsers/computers would be a nice addition.

It's probably not something I would use, but I wouldn't be opposed to the option to add one or two menus that could have customized links. The dropdowns shift depending on screen size, but none of the content on the page gets blocked when they do that, so I don't see any harm in it if it's not too hard to implement (though if you made a folder on the browser bar, it would have pretty much the same effect with no coding necessary. I use a combination of the right-hand side bookmarks and a folder for links I can't easily navigate to otherwise)
