Just joined this morning and the tutorial told me to post here- any tips/pointers welcome

First and foremost, try looking through the Useful General Discussion Threads section, which covers various things including daily activities, a guide to the user shops, and more. You should start using the Bathhouse Pools to earn free currency from time to time as long as you keep up a successive day-to-day visit.

Since I see you've already make a quick Human Avatar, try visiting the Useful Human Avatar Threads section, and start participating in the Human Avatars Games and Contests subforum.

You might be interested in battling, which is a big draw and usually involved with the site-wide plots that usually occur every couple of years alongside puzzle aspects. But if not, that's perfectly fine! I myself am an avid battler so I try to encourage anyone to at least look into things for a bit.
