Creating this thread on behalf of (link to original post).

Add a small indicator on shop search (under the item image or next to a user's shop) when the searched item or a shop containing that item is mentioned within the first post of an Advertising forum thread.

Advertising forum threads typically list many items using the (item=) code or contain links to user shops. Some users link to open trades in their threads (so these items and the relevant sales can be found via shop search) but trades need to be recreated every 2 weeks and are hard to search through.

We already have links to trades, the Cash Shop, and various official shops within the shop search when we search for an item available elsewhere, so it would be helpful to maybe have a small [A] next to the shop name if that user has mentioned the item in the first post of an Advertising forum thread or has it in an advertised shop.

The [A] could link directly to the thread where the mention was made. The indicator could disappear within a few days of no updates/edits to the original post, or if the thread gets locked or moves to the second page. The indicator would not activate from item mentions in any other forum, just Advertising (strictly within the first post).

This could help stimulate some new activity within the Advertising forum.

-- This may be difficult or just not possible to implement, but putting it out there anyway!

I guess it'd be difficult to implement, but I'd love that. I often look for my WL items but looking thru EVERY selling thread is just something I won't do. So the possible sales are missed. And since forum search is dead...
