You can't tell me you haven't had this scenario; You've made a selling thread, great! You're a little entrepreneur, aren't you? You have you stuff all priced or you're letting people offer. But as the days carry on, only one person has posted, with a question no less, that you promptly answer! But there's no traffic after that. Or, worse yet, no one has posted at all! So you watch your thread fall deeper and deeper into the abyss, you're unable to save it because you can't bump it! Who knows how long it'll take to reach the fourth page?! You need sP / CSC now! You have CW slots to pay! You have art to buy! You have pets to create! Your dream avatar is crying out to you!
HAVE NO FEAR CITIZEN, I AM HERE WITH A SUGGESTION THAT MAY EASE YOUR WORRIES! It's called the bump button! This handy-dandy little button appears for your eyes only on your thread! You click it and boop-de-doop! Your thread RIIIIIISES to the top of the other threads! You didn't have to despair and wait for the day you can make another thread, you didn't have to bribe your friends to bump your post! You did it all on your own! Congratulations citizen!
TL;DR Can we please have a bump button for our threads? Possibly with a timer? Like say, one bump every twelve hours or so? Also it won't increase post count. (I apologize for being the way I am.) (Please support this guys I love u all.)
I think that's a great idea tbh. Some forums probably don't need it so much, as the lack of interest might speak for itself, but this would be really beneficial for advertising boards (you basically have to wait for it to die on the 4th page before announcing you added more stuff) or even ideas or help boards.
There's a lot of times I can see something I wanna post on, but later can't seem to find it. Then wonder, maybe it was in a different set of forums then after five minutes of roaming around I lose interest. If potentially bumping boards with added ideas/suggestions/items for sale/people still needing help was a thing maybe a lot of stuff wouldn't go so unnoticed.
so like it rises your thread up to the top of the page, without increasing post count? and has a 12 hour cool down? im game

I think this would be useful, even if it's just in the sales forums. Those threads just get recreated anyway.
I feel like a timer might be a bit iffy. I feel like it might be a bit much in some forums but then I also feel like it might help other forums be more active if there are signs of life in there.
I don't have any more practical solutions though, unless this is like a GA feature or something and it might help if there aren't as many people using it?
I think it could be a neat possible GA feature if over-use is a concern! It'd definitely be a QoL thing.
What if non-GA version was 24 hours and GA version was 12? I don't know, something to that effect.
I personally love this idea -- other sites (if I'm allowed to name, Aywas is one of them) have this feature implemented and it always seemed to work fairly well as far as I've seen.
Maybe add in a thing where like, after a topic's last reply is so old, it can't be bumped anymore. Because we really don't need threads to be necro'd after months and months. :T
Actually you only need to reach the 3rd page to recreate a thread in Ads. I don't feel like this option is super necessary tbh.
It's fourth, a mod confirmed it for me when I made that mistake.
I'm the MM of ads :P And it's 3rd. Advertising Forum Rules "You may have separate topics for different items, sets of items, etc., but you must wait for a topic to reach the 3rd page before you can re-post for the same item, sets of items, etc. "
So once you reach the 3rd page you can recreate.
WELL THAT'S SURE FUNNY BC I HAVE SMTH ON MY ACCOUNT THAT SAYS OTHERWISE. 8| Oh well.
D: Hm, well, I would file a ticket about it and ask, esp since its definitely listed out in the rules topic I linked.
Wouldn't this just lead to a bump war where everyone is bumping up their own threads? Your thread would probably still gets lost in the shuffle, especially if it's only 12 hours, which would mean you'd have a bunch of otherwise inactive threads constantly bubbling back to the top of the forum listing.

This idea seems nice enough, but i think 12 hours is too fast. I also like it tied to the GA - to motivate sellers to buy/maintain a GA. [i actually didnt pay attention if regular users make selling threads, because i pay attention to what is being sold >.>]
i see it especially useful during various events when the hidden boards appear -Morostide, Survival- and folks organize contests. can't tell you how many times i entered a contest, but then had to sleep and the next day i couldnt find the thread anymore. u.u
I really have to update my blog ObscureJourney and my review site BeingObscure. French speakers can read my reviews here.
support! :>
the forums aren't really active enough for spam/bump wars to be an issue imo
I agree with this! It isn’t a necessary thing but it would def make life easier, and would generally be useful. I don’t think it needs to be in all forums either, perhaps just the trading/selling/buying sections?
This is exactly why I think this kind of feature is unnecessary.
This is exactly why if a "bump button" is implamented at all it should be disabled on all non comercial forums. I can't imagine what a chaos it would be if everyone would bump their "kiss the user above" up to the top even on a timer. Those event threads are always locked in a small scale bump war already. I can also see a bump feature being misused by some more immature/egotistical users.(no specific individuals implied)
I usually just sell a few items instead of all my items because of this problem, so I will sell like 3 items all different in one topic like a quicksale, list the items and the prices so that way once those sell later if the thread gets too far back I can just make a different topic for the newer items I sell (which are different items) . IS that against the rules :S i never got in trouble so ;/

i believe toyhou.se has a feature where you can only bump a thread if it's been posted on within X amount of time !! i really like that.
