So I commissioned an overlay for one of my pets and for some reason when I save the image to my computer it puts a background in. I have a macbook pro if that matters. But I cant figure out how to not get it to save that way. It doesnt exactly give a box to check for what kind of background to save as. Does anyone have any idea how I can get it to either save transparent or white so I can upload it to the site?
what format is the image in when you are receiving it?
If you save something with a transparent background as anything but a gif or a png, your computer is going to default in a likely black background.
If you have Photoshop or some other photo-editing program - take it in there, do a selection so everything around the pet image is highlighted, erase, save as a png. And throttle whomever you commissioned that from for not saving it on a transparent background.

Thank you both, I did have it saved as a png, I'm not sure why it did what it did, but I think between the artist and I we figured it out. I have submitted it again for review.
I really appreciate the input and answers! My computer only saves as png so I knew that wasn't the issue. Maybe a fluke I suppose.
It might have also been the program you were viewing with, sometimes transparent backgrounds can turn up black in that preview. But! I'm glad you got it figured out and happy birfday!

Yeah I'm thinking for some reason when I previewed it, the background was black but should have been transparent and right-click saving it just made it default from the black to a grayish white color. But it seems to be in order now!
And thank you very much! ^^
