I don't know how easy, or if it would be possible to have a list of books and food in and missing from a pet's collection, kind of how the beanbags/plushies lists work.
EDIT:
Thanks so much staff for giving us a book collection section <3
EDIT2:
Aahhh thanks so much for the food addition!
I've spend so much time going through the books on SubetaLodge to see what I'm missing. Still only on the M's. I'd appreciate this (especially since I'm training a second battle pet).
Subetalodge has a book reading checklist feature that tells you what you are missing. Just a heads up.
Since people can have various readers/gourmand pets I don't see this as being feasible. It would have to be run for every pet out there and that I assume is a big data hog
I'd love this.
I only have one gourmand and two battle pets, so I'd get a lot of use out of this.
If it's going to be a big data hog, maybe have it cached to once every X hours? Or make it a GA-only option. Because yeah, I'd rather stay onsite than have to wander offsite, especially for something this useful.
Oh my gosh - I would love this and have thought about asking the exact same question several times. I would also love to see something for the sticker collections.
Regarding the SubetaLodge, although it is a great resource it has never worked well. The whole "mass add" is cumbersome and doesn't always pick things up ... and when you have pages and pages of items it is easy to overlook things (which could partially be "user error" :) ).
The feature of being able to check "Items You Need" has not worked correctly in what seems like years especially when you have very large collections. Yes, you can go page by page but if it was actually implemented here it seems like all those issues would be eliminated. Just my two cents worth.
I agree with you. And you still have to go and check which I advised when commenting. I only like to bring up options people have in case they were not aware.
For stickers I see it being easier since it is only one collection per user. Pets can be upwards to the 70's. Which is why I am not confident it will be implimented
Yes - I agree it is important to mention, sometimes I forget everyone is not aware of SubetaLodge. Which it really is an amazing resource!! I use it to reference items all the time.
The stickers ... lol ... don't get me started. We'll leave it at "I can't wait it is updated" :)
Something else I would love to see implemented is on the current Beanbag and Plushie Collection pages. When sorting for "Show Missing Items" , it would be great to have another sort tab (similar to the ones in "my wishlist") where you can sort by "User Price". .... That's probably a suggestion which should be posted under a different topic.
OMG, please. If it being a resource hog is a concern, then maybe as a gold account perk or limited use per day/week?
Thank you for your response, I understand that people having a billion different pets for all these things would make things difficult. I hope that in the future we get something in-site to make things a lil easier, I used subetalodge a few years ago but it's just another thing I have to keep track of and... Spoiler alert: I didn't lol
What you are actually missing is your pants!
- Oh shoot! I thought I felt a breeze.
- I didn't respond to your personal comment, but I also found I was doing more work on SubetaLodge's list than the way I had figured it out myself.
Go to book list on SL->Account Search->Add to wishlist if it hadn't been read to my pet. Then I just organize my wishlist by price.
Thanks for the suggestion though!
I can totally understand how it might be a data hog, but I'd love to see some form of this suggestion, even if it had restrictions like: must have a GA and can only check one pet per month. Hell, for those of us who have read/eaten more than half of the available items, wouldn't it be easier to track what we haven't shoved into our pet's face instead of what we have?
On-site: Morphic has eaten 7815 food items! Subetalodge: Foods (Morphic) 7,817/8,848
I'm sure you can see my problem, at this point. :( How the heck will I ever find out what went wrong, figure out which items I somehow logged and didn't feed? I certainly don't have any foods stored anywhere pending to be eaten right now, so that's 79 pages of eaten foods I'd have to go through to locate the error. I thought that I was being meticulous in my record-keeping but apparently not... (It's a minor consolation that I didn't screw up the 1,910 books read, but still.)
Something like this would be extremely useful! Trying to keep track of what books my pet Kijo has or hasn't read is a huge pain. ;__; Same with foods for my pet Rosso.
Sure, I can manually dig through the list before buying a book/food... but that's a huge hassle, and I imagine it's even worse for people with thousands of books read/foods eaten. Being able to see at a glance what books my Kijo still needs would be fantastic.
While I can understand the potential of this being a huge processing hog, idk I kinda feel like how big of a problem would this be? I'd really like some behind the seasons input on the reality of this.
Sure, there's the potential of users having somewhere around 93-95 pet slots but how many users have that many pets? How many users actively read books to/feed every single pet?
Like yes I have 88 pets atm, and yes I have/plan to read 100 books to every single pet I only actively read books to roughly 14 pets (battle pets). One of those doesn't really count because he's read everything sans the brand new book/ether delete book so I really don't need to check his books outside of maybe once a month (just in case I missed something being released). Aaannd only 28 of my pets are under 100, so realistically I'd really use this for 13 pets and one time for 28 pets. But for those 13 this would be EXTREMELY beneficial because trying to keep 13 subetalodge lists updated really just kills my motivation. Which means losing the potential sP moving around the economy/selling csc for sP for more books.
I can't speak for foods, as I only feed a specific theme of foods to one pet, but it begs the same question. How many users actively feed all the things to multiple pets?
Now if there's something to support the fact that no, there's a ton of users who actively read to/feed a ton of pets and this would be a major issue then that's fair enough. Or if staff tried it on the backend and yeah it would be a major issue, again fair enough. But if most users only focus this on a few pets with a handful of one offs then, would this really be an end all?
Not to mention it would be a FANTASTIC GA perk that would make the one I buy more relevant than a $5/m mobile adblocker.
Yeah, when I made this post I didn't really think about people having 80 pets (DANG that's bonkers) I only have a few and I already think they're too much, BUT, I only really read/feed to one of my pets, the other ones just live in the resort.
I'm just hoping that this or something similar will be implemented at some point.
I think with people who have a lot of pets anyway, they probably have priority pets - the ones who get the new books and food before the other ones. If the data thing is a problem (and Staff input would be nice on this), then maybe you check for food and books once a day across all of your pets.
I prefer more on site checklists anyway. I tried to use the sticker one on Subetalodge and it just never worked for me.
- Even paying every time you want the list generated. It would stop people from checking over and over, and be a sP sink.
Even with 80 pets, how many people are trying to do complete lists for ALL their pets?
I'd really love to see this implemented on site.
I can totally understand it being a data hog, and I fully support it being a restricted feature.
I like the idea of a once-a-day check, preferably once-a-day per pet, but I could actually live with it being once-a-day overall... Maybe it could also be something that only pops up as an option after you've read so many books or eaten so many foods. Out of my 58 pets, I've only got a dozen or so pets that I'm actively reading books and it was fairly easy to get them to 400 without using any lists, even 500 wasn't too terrible... It was after that I started having to use SubetaLodge. Similarly, I was up to 1000 foods fed to Monument before I felt like I needed to make a list.
I am sure that are some users that are reading/feeding all their pets but I feel like they are an exception, not the rule. -shrugs-
