Anyone play it? I wouldn't exactly call it obscure, but very few people I talk to seems to know what it is. It's a digital board/card strategy game with cute animals, though, so maybe someone here knows about it!
Who's your favorite hero? Have you been keeping up with the novella releases, and if so, which did you enjoy the most? Now that Room Codes are a thing, anyone want to go a game or two? ;D
I play Armello and even backed the game as a Kickstarter! It's a really fun game but it is pretty niche in terms of popularity. I just love the lore-building and board game aspect to it as it's something you don't normally see in a game. I pretty much like almost all the heroes but I especially like River, Scarlet and Sylas. Zosha and Fang are particularly fun to play.
I don't always play the game due to being busy with RL, but I do like Fury Fridays due to its fast pace nature (some normal games take a while than you expect!) only just understanding how Stranger Games work. Trying to earn some achievements when I get the chance to play online as well as amulets/rings to unlock.
The lore is what drew me to the game in the first place-- you had to pick it out of cards, the limited dialogue options, and the Armello wiki before these novels, but I had a lot of fun doing it! But now that I'm a bit more seasoned, I appreciate how literally every game is different. Not just because of cards or dice rolls, either; even the map is randomly generated.
All really good, really fun heroes! I like the new chrysocolla amulet with River, especially with the changes to evade. RIP Twiss/evasion Rat. Scarlet can be tricky, but she's very flexible, which is great in a game like this. Sylas is my gyrating otter boy <3. Zosha and Fang are very satisfying-- it's great to roll your dice and end up with 10+ attacks, especially if you go Rot and have a huge Explode Pool.
If you're trying to unlock rings/amulets, you can actually play single player to get, like, 98% of them (all except Resist, you need to be level 10 to unlock that). Single player games go much, much faster, and it's great to jump into queue knowing you have every ring/amulet/tool you might need to begin. You can also get achievements in single player, but that's not as fun.
Love this game! The lore and story is wonderful. Its whats pulled me into the game. Ive played just AI games, not any multiplayer ones.
I like how every map is different. Most board games have the same board so it's nice that they change it up everytime (I like the seasonal maps too)
I like how every clan seems to have an interesting theme going yet the heroes are different in their own way. The bandit clan heroes I find are almost gimmicky with their strange hero talents (like most times, it's quite hard for Scarlet to activate her Revolutionary skill) Sylas in his first release wasn't great until they tweaked his hero skill and given bandits the Serendibite ring; now he's very strong! I do wish I would play the Bear Clan heroes more but they're tricky compared to the other main four clans. I haven't tried the Chrysocolla ring on river yet but it sounds pretty insane!
As much as single player would be so much easier for gaining rings/amulet and achievements, I feel the game entices you more on the multiplayer games due to chests and ranks. I know they're cosmetic but I quite like to get rare dice if possible.
