The pop up indicator/description on items is extremely helpful. But when you sit there, and can not remember if you already have it in your plushies/minion zoo/wardrobe or not, can get a little crazy.
The indicator box already lists value and selling value etc . It would be helpful for it to possibly list that the item already has 1 on account, or 1 in wardrobe, or in collection/vault etc. To keep from having to leave that screen, or tab to a new one, go through the collection and see if you can find it, etc. It may also be helpful if your creating treasure collections for pets. Where the item indicator may list that its already in a pets treasure area.
There is an Account Search option that tells you whether or not you have an item, and where it is located, if that's what you mean? You do have to go to another page but it works without having to dig through your collections.
Unfortunately, I imagine keeping track of each individual item for every single user would be too much strain on the servers, so I'm not sure it could go in the little pop-up box.
Account Search Example
makes a good point about potential server strain. Since similar indicators of owning an item were removed from other features because of server strain (wishlists come to mind), I expect this kind of addition to item hovers would cause the same problems. In which case, no support.
If it CAN be done without causing server strain, then an "Owned" indicator to say how many copies of an item you already have sounds good. Nothing more than that though. Adding details such as "X" in wardrobe, shop, collection and so on is just clutter. You can just run an account search from the link on the hover if you need to see where the items are located.
Honestly, I think this is too complicated to put right into the hover (not to mention the lag it could potentially cause having to run an account search for every item in your inventory or something. I don't know if it would run the search while opening the hover, causing a massive delay if you don't need that information, or if it would have to run them upon loading the page. That's why we don't have the "You own this item!" in wishlists anymore).
I think all the possible locations for an item would make the hover too crowded, especially since you can just open the account search linked right in the hover into a new tab and check that way
Thank you for noting the account search link - I had no idea! Its been a major help! <3 Thank you so much. ^.^ Still learning ins and outs. LOL.
Admin, please delete/lock. Suggested item that is already input in the system (and I had overlooked).
My apologies and thank you!
