Chewy.com advertises a lot of "bark control devices". This includes shock collars. Here is a link to one of their "pet safe" shock collars.
If you look at the reviews for this product, you will see one that claims that the collar was too strong and hurt their dog. I'm tired of seeing these ads on this site so often. I would assume that most people on a virtual pet website are probably animal lovers and would presumably not be okay with this website taking money from shock collar ads.
This has been bothering me for a while and I just had to say something. Thanks for reading.
I agree that animals being hurt by an item like this is bad, but this is one bad item sold by an online retailer that carries a large range of pet products. It's no reason for Chewy ads to be removed from Subeta.
If you have a problem with the product sold, complain to Chewy about it. If these collars aren't as pet safe as they claim, they need to know to stop selling them.
Unless the site itself is dangerous or scamming people, I see no reason for their ads to be removed from Subeta.
I see your point, but I disagree. Chewy has been made aware of this by their own customer reviews. I guess I just don't like the idea of subeta supporting a website that sells any harmful products, even if they have a lot of other products that are fine for animals.
You can use ad block if you don't want to see them anymore.
Customer reviews help other customers make an informed decision about the product. It's possible the seller doesn't even see customer reviews, unless they get flagged. The best way to let them know the product is harmful is to contact Chewy directly.
Most of the time, ads are based on your browsing and search history. It's unfortunate you're seeing such ads, but sadly Subeta has no control over these (aside from billboard ads submitted by other users). If you're unable to use adblock, here's a CSS snippet you can add to your custom CSS to hide ads as well.
ins#aswift_0_anchor, div center ins, , .create_ad, a[href^="/ad_click.php?"] img {display:none !important;}
I’m sorry but you’ll also see hundreds of GOOD reviews on that same product... any product will have good reviews and bad reviews. No product will ever work for every person.
In comparison: Pampers sells diapers that gave some babies allergic reactions and they had rashes and burns from their reaction: yet the same diapers worked amazing for other babies... should their adds be banned because SOME babies had a reaction?
You honestly seem to be seeking out just the bad reviews and making a mountain out of a molehill... if you’re against the adds, addblock it. A company shouldn’t be banned for adds because some people had a negative reaction to a product they sell when many more had potisive reactions
I'm not in favor of shock collars either, but I agree that even if it was something Subeta could control, it's not really something they should have to? Chewy sells a lot of good products too.
I don't know how often or how in-depth reviews even get checked, but contacting them directly, rather than just assuming that they've looked at the reviews, would be much more productive.
Well. I'm personally against those collar and believe in my dogs freedom and expression, even if that means I'm flying away when they see another dog lol But those collars cruelty is really subjective, some says that they are good, some says that they are bad.. so why not to let the people think for themselves what is good for their dogs and for them.. as long as it's not causing a real damage and cruelty toward the dogs and not promoting cruelty, I don't think Subeta needs to do something about it and let this advertisement and business to do as they wish..
Get a harness because if you can't control your dog (RE: GET THEM OUT FROM A BAD SITUATION OR PREVENT THAT SITUATION ENTIRELY), you're going to cause them harm anyways (JFC!), train your damned dog, don't have a dog if you can't train them and that's that. Subeta's ads, to the best of my knowledge, are the PG-13 versions tailored from your search history.
Subeta can't do anything about the ads, block them with AdBlock.

These advertisements are through Google's advertisement system, which means they are personalized based on your data such as your search history. I don't know what other data Google might be using to decide it.
For example, I never receive ads for dog products since I do not have a dog. Instead, I get ads for things like this one: https://i.imgur.com/m4L9W40.png
Rackspace (the thing being advertised) is a cloud web hosting service, so obviously this is personalized to the data Google has collected on me. It's completely done through Google, not anything on Subeta's end.
But the good news: you can actually both report ads, and change your ad settings to choose what kind of ads you want to see. Look closely at the advertisement image, in the top right corner. There are two tiny icons. Hover over the one on the left, and it will change to the word "AdChoices". Then, click on it. This will take you to a page that looks like this (using the advertisement I got above as an example): https://i.imgur.com/39GpbYS.png
On this page, I am told by Google why they are showing this advertisement to me - this one is because I must have visited the company's website at some point. Then it has a few useful links underneath: the options to report a bad advertisement, for instance, and links to where you can choose which ads to opt out to. The next time you see a Chewy ad, try looking for that icon on it and you will be able to take action as you wish regarding it.
Your general Google Ad Settings can be found here, where you can do things like choose what topics you want to opt in/out of advertisements for, etc: https://adssettings.google.com/
I hope this helps :)
