I am a pet collector. I currently have 51 pets. I love Subeta pets but I am frustrated with missing information on some Spotlight winners...
I enjoy looking at the Subeta pets that players have. I like to see the actual pet and all of their stats including books read, food eaten, and jobs they have worked. What is frustrating to me is wanting to see that same information for the pet that has received the Pet Spotlight Winner title. Unfortunately, many of the pets winning the spotlight are not showing a lot of that information. Not only is the actual pet often changed to a caricature but it is missing part of it’s stats. No created date, no adoption date, no books read, no food eaten, no jobs held, etc. I wish that all information available for a Subeta pet also be required to be accessible from the pet’s profile page in order for them to win the title of Pet Spotlight Winner. If a player doesn’t want to include that information when they create a new pet profile, okay, but they should NOT be eligible as a spotlight winner unless they do.
What do you think?

Maybe the owner doesn’t want books read/foods eaten to be there. Why should you/anyone get to dictate what has to be on the pet page?
This honestly just seems like you’re just being nosey about others stats and are upset you can’t see everything and want rules changed so you can find the info you’re after..
There’s NO reason at all pets shouldn’t be eligible for spotlight just because some stats aren’t listed. This seems like it would just cause a lot of hassle for people who already worked on their characters and have them all set up.
No support. At all.
I don’t want to dictate as it is okay with me for that information to be omitted. I just felt that the spotlight winner title should go beyond just great artwork and story but should also include a way to allow that that other information to be seen as well. Maybe Subeta could offer a link to view that related information instead for those of us that would like to see it. I do not want to create a hassle for any player for sure. Spotlight winners are very very creative

I really don't think this is necessary. I don't know if there's a way to plug a pet's name into the food eaten/etc. URLs or a way to easily find the ID number in the event that someone links to their pet with the name URL, but there may or may not be a fairly easy way to get to that info anyway if you really want to see it.
That said, I feel like just because the information is publicly available, technically, that doesn't really make it anyone's business? I think most people, if they have a theme for their pet's foods eaten or whatever, will link the page on the pet's lookup. If not, then it's probably just a list of whatever the person was able to get their hands on towards gourmand by that point, and that's not super interesting to me, and I don't really see a point in needing to include unnecessary information.
My gourmand/main battle pet has a story that has nothing to do with either of those facts. I'd find it frustrating to have to include his stats and foods eaten on his profile even though it's got nothing to do with his character (in comparison to a pet I have with very specific stats that WILL be inclued for relevance). I actually kind of feel like it would detract from my battlers' characters to have to include those things when they have nothing to do with anything
absolutely not. if i'm proud of how many books or which foods my pet has read or eaten, i will show them off. if their job or birthdate is pertinent to their character, i will share it. if their stats are impressive, i will include them. otherwise, those things are not relevant to my pets and are nothing more than an ugly eyesore that takes up space.
the pet spotlight is about showing off cool and creative profiles, stories, and characters. stats, books, food, birthdate, etc aren't always going to be part of that creative vision, and they shouldn't have to be. the pet's real name, color, species, and owner must be included so people can't lie about who/what their pet actually is. everything else is up to the owner's discretion.
I can see this turning many people away from the spotlight. People play in so many different ways here and have so many different interests. Some players like to focus on story for their pets, others crafting amazing custom profiles, some with expansive treasures, beautiful artwork. The joy of spotlight is showing off a wide variety of interests and talents.
Speaking personally, most of my pets have basic stats, no books read and no food eaten, it's not something that interests me to do for all of them. Most of them don't even have jobs, simply because there is no job that matches the character I've created for them, so I hide that. I love to write, the focus is story, I want that to be shown in the profiles and pages of my pets, everything else is just unnecessary clutter to me. If I'm forced to show that information just to get a trophy, it's not fun anymore, I'd feel like I've lost that freedom that subeta offers with what can be done on pet pages.
It isn't the battle pet spotlight, or the job agency spotlight or the food eaten spotlight or the books read spotlight - it's the pet spotlight.
People have complete freedom to not show battle stats, job agency information, foods or books information if it isn't relevant.
Everyone is making such valid points. I really appreciate the feedback. I am seeing that the spotlight winner is very much about the creativity of the artwork and story which is always amazing. If the pet stats do nothing to add to the theme or story, then they may detract and become superfluous to the pet profile. I understand now why it is optional.

I know in Forefox if you want to see all this stuff you can do; View - Page Style - No Style.
In Chrome you can right click and View page source. Or I think there's addons that remove the css.
Neither are pretty but it will show you what's been hidden.

Thank you for that information. I have been using an iPad through Safari. Good to know there are other options

absolutely unequivocally do no support. imo it's already ridiculous that the pet image is required. more rules and regulations of what has to be on the profile are 100% not needed.
^^ this 1000%
I have 73 pets. An entire 2 of them have stats worth looking at, and even then, they're really not (Fourside for battling, Asher for books). I definitely don't agree with this, just because I have that entire column not displaying by DEFAULT for the coding I use for my profiles. Lots of them are down right now but when I put them back up I'm only gonna have the stuff I care about. Hell, half the time my pets' minions aren't important to the story, or I can't find a good place for them in the profile, so I hide them too.
Hard pass.
Wait.... what? Do you mean you also dislike custom pets and people using different art on their pet profiles?
no support. my battle pet and my gourmand pet are different, and their stats don't have any part in their character. I only want certain stats, if any to show.
As a 'pet collector' with 87 pets (24 spotlight winners), I'm not in favour of this suggestion. For most of my pets, the created / adopted date has no connection to their character / story (bar one or two with particularly 'special' dates like Budgerigar , Tea Leaf and Anyu), the books read is only relevant for my battle pet (and even then, if it isn't relevant to the character, I probably won't have it displayed once I've worked on her profile), jobs.... well some of my pets have jobs that fit their story (like Lestrade), but others aren't anything to do with their story or character, so I hide the details. Even my Gourmand pet doesn't have his food eaten list displayed, because it didn't fit with the story I'd developed for him.
I think those stats should remain as being optional to display for the pet spotlight.

I love all the custom artwork and everyone’s creativity in developing their pet’s profile. It is fantastic to to see. Everyone who wins is extremely talented. I was just wondering if others wanted to see those other stats too. Now I realize that it is NOT practical to add that other pet information, especially if it does nothing to add to the theme of the story.
I am no longer in favor of my own suggestion, lol
Thank you all for your input. It is appreciated. :)

You could probably ask a minimize to lock it or change the topic title if don't really responses anymore (since you've changed your mind).
would you lock this forum thread now. Thank you.

Not your pet, not your business. If you want pets to show complete stats, then you do that. But for me, like many, none of my pets have a need to show any of that unless they are used for that. Dragonborn is my battle pet, Hungrily is my gourmand pet. None of my pets have jobs or books read or anything except those two, so I have no reason to add it to the rest of my pets because they are characters, and do not usually partake in the site's systems.
