It means something like "black gold", in reference to petroleum] Species: Elemental/Petroleum-Oil Pronouns: He/Him Major: Literature. He has a huge literature collection, from classics to contemporary. If you are looking for a book, don't hesitate to ask him. Home: Dephts of Darkside. He was born thanks to an alchemist who was experimenting with oil. Likes: to read (of course) and sometimes to write. Also, he likes to wear formal clothes which makes him look older than he really is. But he thinks he looks cool. Dislikes: Fire or anything that produces a combustion. He can easily burn. Roommate: a rock made golem called Pietro. They were friends since childhood.

Name: Ofelia Fremont Species: Half Gorgon Ofelia’s family is a musical one, with her pianist mother and her violinist father. Oh, and her mom is a gorgon and her dad is blind. It’s a running joke that everytime Ofelia asks how her parents met, they give her a different story. Ofelia has mostly human characteristics, besides the snakes intermingling in her hair, the scales, and of course, the infamous eyes. They're lovely! You can see them because the magical pearls she wears prevent them from turning things to stone. However, she’s perfectly capable of meandering with her eyes closed.
Birthday: 28th September (Libra) Pronouns: She/Her Major: Zoology with a Minor in Linguistics Ofelia’s snakes can communicate with her and other animals, though animal languages and dialects are sometimes a pain. Ofelia considered being a veterinarian, but she likes to travel and is interested in being a bridge of animals and humans when it comes to ‘fair’ treatment. She makes sure to transcribe anything she writes into an audio version. Home: a big cottage connected to a cave juxtaposed to a forest next to a super highway on the outskirts of Germany Likes: Animals, Traveling, Playing Flutes and Ocarinas, Photography, Sunflowers Dislikes: Prejudice, Cold Climates, Salty Food, Cooking, Statues Roomie: Delle Brent Delle is an outspoken, heartwarming, bass clarinet playing, geologist wannabe werewolf from the north. She loves the cold, so there is an ever ongoing war over room temperature! Otherwise, they get along fine, especially since Ofelia can understand Delle when she's full-on-arctic-wolf-mode, and Delle think's Ofelia's snakes are cute and gets along better with the snakies more than Ofelia herself.

But after lightning struck the library of her old one and nearly burned it down, she was leery of...accidents. Like zapping her new roommate if she got annoyed, or causing a rainstorm inside a classroom. Maybe that was why she'd begun studying the earth--it gave her something more stable than her lightning-quick temper, something utterly opposed to her nature. It was comforting, in a way. She looked up at the towers of her new dorm, and sighed.

Corinn starts out wary of her, not sure how they will get along, but eventually Inara teaches her to be comfortable with her powers and they become good friends.
