No matter what name I try to choose for my scootle it errors saying I am using wrong characters for the name even tho I'm only using letters. I'm even double checking to make sure the names I am trying to choose aren't already taken. Is this a current issue for others as well?

[edit] I exited the Nature Hike and restarted it and was able to adopt after that.

I'm having the same issue. Glad I checked first before trying to adopt this pet for name clearing purposes.

The name I try contain only letters but won't work! I am afraid to try on a different computer (maybe it is not accepting it because I am using Safari as my browser, on a Macbook?) for fear I won't be able to get back to that page on my pc.

i was having the same problem, finally got it to work. but i typed in a name, it told me i was using the wrong letters and symbols. so i right clicked and opened the search subeta tab (didnt want to close the scootle adoption) and searched the name i was looking for. it already existed so i tried a different one and saw no pet with the name and went back, typed that one in and it told me uh oh error. so i tried a different name, this time it told me the name was taken. so i went back to the one name and it let me adopt my scootle finally

Okay, so after looking through replies, this is the one that helped me a bit:

So this time I searched the name a few times, and then went back to claim, and it worked. <3 Now I have my Scootlewoo! (It's an in slang; me and my spouse call Slugs 'Sluggawoos')

Tried the Nature Hike and finally I could adopt it! <3

Guys, try closing the tab, don't worry they will be there when you come back, and open the Nature Hike again, look for the Scootle and try adopting again.

I had that issue when just hitting enter after typing the name, but it worked when i clicked the adopt button instead :>

Had that issue as well, but as stated above, if you exit that screen (either by closing out or going to another page) and then reopen the Nature Walk, it will then let you (after walking through the nature walk again) name and adopt :)
