Many of you who aren't Spanish may have never heard of this series, but I guess some of you who've got Netflix will probably know what series I'm about to talk about. SPOILER (click to toggle)
Money Heist tells the story of the greatest heist ever to occur in the history of Spain - only instead of robbering a bank, a group of eight different people with different backgrounds and skills who've got nothing to lose will strike the Spanish National Mint. For this goal to be successfully achieved, they must follow a series of rules set by their leader - only known as The Professor -, catch the attention of the national media and gain the sympathy of the audience. And with millions of euros and the lives of several hostages at stake, and having the police constantly keeping up their track, it won't be an easy task at all.
Money Heist was first broadcast in Spain in 2017, and was a huge smash with both audiences and critics. After it was made available on Netflix both at Spanish national level and international level, the series gained a cult following thanks to its gripping story - which combines thriller, romance and a pinch of dark humour - its cutting-edge aesthetic and its timeless characters, not to mention its main song. Hopefully you'll enjoy these series. :)
- THIS. I was blown away by this show. Finished it in a week! Unique storyline and incredible, unforgettable characters (LOVED the Professor and Berlin). So many themes, great dark humour, and above all great reflection of the human condition..
My one note to anyone about to watch this - definitely watch in Spanish (with the subs) - I started watching the dubbed version and it lost a lot of its authenticity! Plus, their Spanish is beautiful..
