Hi & others!
I totally forgot it was time for Eurosong! Are you watching tomorrow? I hope Rasmussen goes to the finals. Vikings need to win! :'D

Aaaaand Belgium's out. We lasted a whole 4 songs into the first semi. The more fuss they make that this year we're going to win, the faster we're out, lol.
There weren't that many catchy songs that really stuck. The trumpet tune from Czech republic was nice. And though it was really corny, I did like Ireland a lot! I don't know where Rasmussen is from, but I make a point in not looking or listening to any songs before the semi finals. I like to watch them all for the first time live. So I'll wait till tomorrow and see if I recognise a viking. :P
Haha, I like to be prepared! In my group of friends it's like a holiday :D We eat and drink together en debate about the songs and then we watch tv and vote :D
I didn't watch the 1st semi final because i forgot lol I really like the viking concept of Denmark but I'm almost sure Sweden is going to win again!

I’m excited! We are going to have lots of food and drinks Saturday night while watching! I’m hoping some friends will come other otherwise it’ll just be our household. I haven’t seen any of the acts yet but it makes sense for to enjoy a Viking act ;)

I'm so excited... but I never really listen to any of the songs before the final evening because I don't want to get spoilered (LOL, I know it sounds weird!)... so I only know my country's song (Italy) and I'm pretty sure we don't stand a chance!
The Viking concept is going to catch my attention for sure!
Not going to watch it (I AM ONLY POPPING IN FOR DENMARK, YEAH <3) but I was pleased when I found out that Germany, after many years, finally has a song going to the finals again that doesn't make my ears bleed. Remarkable.
STILL I WANT DENMARK TO WIN OTHERWISE I'LL RIOT.
Almost forgot about this year's contest, too, and I haven't even listened to the songs earlier; so far I'm a bit upset about some countries not qualifying in the first semi-final (as always), but at least I really liked Estonia's and Israel's performances (even though it reminds me of Serbia from 2015... mixed with Dustin the turkey). Quite curious about today; hope my country (Poland) doesn't qualify, we sent one the worst songs we could, IMO.
Just spotted the viking! Quite surprising, I thought they'd be yelling and screaming, all beards and stuff, but the guys could actually sing quite smoothly. :)
[edit] The door comedy from moldova was funny, but I don't remember the song already. Netherlands is quite catchy. But us Belgians always have a soft spot for our neighbours, too bad we can't vote for them in this semi.
I. AM. EXCITED! Eurovision is one of the highlights of my year. I'm avoiding the elimination rounds to keep everything a surprise for the final.
I've heard a bit of the UK's song but gave up at the first chorus because it's rubbish, as usual. Not that we'd get any votes even if we had a decent song.
Heard all of the second semi now, and I have to say, the level was a lot lower than the first semi. I can barely remember any of the songs themselves, just some of the acts. Let's go with the vikings (denmark), the doors (moldova), rock n roll cowboy (netherlands), the screamers (hungary) and light show guy (sweden) to go to the finals. We'll see how right (or wrong) I am. :P
My favorite act is still the vikings! But I bet Sweden is going to win. It was just perfection, like a video clip!

Yay, all 5 of my guesses are going through, guess I'm not too bad at predicting!
To be honest I'm not a fan of the biggest 2 favorite songs to win this year (Israel and Cyprus). As long as some other country with a better song wins (there are several), I'm okay with it. I found Finland and Austria's songs catchy, but I also got the feeling I have heard similar rythms before.
I agree, I don't really see why people like Israel and Cyprus so much. Though Israel does stand out because it's so out there. And Cyprus, well, she's a good looking woman who shakes everything there is to shake, so there's that. :P
Top songs for me (with remarks to help me remember who is who):
Israel made me cringe so hard :(
Moldova with the doors was my favourite, it was such clever staging!
I’m super proud of our act though. She’s not good enough to win but she did so well to keep going after the protester interrupted her act.

Agreed, Moldova staging is just great. I'm not sure who's behind all that, but kudos to them. Last year's videoclip for Hey mama was funny and entertaining as well. I assume is from the UK. I have the feeling this is not the first time people have tried to sabotage the UK performance, most likely for political reasons. I feel sorry for SuRie. Glad she kept going on after all that, she did good having in mind the circunstances, and I'm sure she'll place within the top10 (I have to take this back at this point - looks like the UK will struggle within the next years... not much that can be done though, just let the dust settle...)
This year, our chances to win are none, but I wouldn't want Portugal to host the ESC twice in a row anyway :P I'll be rooting for The Netherlands and Austria tonight.
I'm quite surprised that Israel won, let alone was touted to win beforehand. It was quite bad. But I suppose it was a bit different, and being able to stand out in Eurovision is generally the route to success. So many of the songs blur into one despite the creative staging.
I'm disappointed Denmark didn't do better, and Australia should have placed way higher than they did.
Stage invasion wasn't enough to net the UK much in the way of sympathy votes, but it was a pretty forgettable song, so I'm not surprised. I'd really like to see the UK put forward an act in one of the other British languages (Welsh, Scots Gaelic, Cornish etc) at some point. It'd be a nice change.
I hadn’t even thought about the possibility of an entry using one of our older languages! My girlfriend is Welsh so I can confirm it’s an absolutely beautiful language. It’s something I really want to see now... Although at this point I don’t think anything will get us votes ? yes I am from the Uk, sorry if I wasn’t very clear ^^’ politically we’re drowning ourselves in a puddle right now and we need an adult.
