About 6 months ago I posted something about giving more info to items in the Quick Stock view to make it easier to clean up an inventory after a hard day questing!!

But after giving it more thought I really really really would love it if the inventory was more like the Vault and had a check mark box under each item with a pop-up destination scroll thingy at the bottom of the inventory as to where to send items in bulk.

The admin on subeta has done SO much to ease every aspect of the site EXCEPT the damn inventory! Excuse me if I'm a bit over zealous!! :-P I sometimes hesitate to play more as I know I'm going to have to click so many times to sort through everything laying around in my inventory. And I do realize not everyone faces this time consuming dilemma as they just dump everything in one place, like a shop to be sorted later. Here's some of the item destinations I frequently use:

Shops (I have 3 I sell out of) Vault Galleries stuff for fragging I know there's more but drawing a blank at the moment

I haven't thought through to currencies as they generally don't take up as many clicks and time.

I feel this simply duplicates the vault. QS everything to the vault, then use that to move things around. You can access each shop and your vault categories, etc. Granted you have to select your shops one at a time, but I generally move stuff into categories that mimic my shops/galleries and then as stuff builds up, go into those categories and move everything out from there.

I get the idea of, why take extra steps to put stuff in the vault, just do it straight out of the inventory. However I use my inventory in other ways adding checkboxes and drop downs would mess up how I use it. Making the page a lot more complex, rather than a simple staging area.

As for currencies, there's a suggestion of a link or button to turn in all currencies at once that sounds really good.

Dang, I thought it was such a great idea!! And your idea of moving to the vault is good and that's probably what I need to start doing...I keep a lot of immediate needs stuff there in No Category but probably could work around it.

You did like my other of idea of making Quick Stock a little more detailed to match up to inventory more! :-P

Oh there's definitely merit to the idea. I like minimizing clicks and trying to get everything done at once, those are good aspects. But I just don't think the inventory is the place for it :).

The vault has seen many improvements, but maybe this inventory idea is something that could be melded with the vault. I really don't like how you can only move stuff out of the vault one shop at a time. I'd like to perhaps see the shops/galleries added to the category drop down. Problem with that, of course, is someone like me who already has too many categories in the vault would end up with a huge drop down list. Still, that might be a good way to do it.

I like the idea of doing something with inventory. I don’t really have any ideas what that might be, though, ha ha. I think that’s because it seems like the issues I have with the inventory feel unique to me, although I’m sure other people experience it, too. I feel your pain after questing. So, to be extremely specific, in case it’s helpful - currently, I use my inventory to keep about 20ish foods to feed my pet. The rest are stored in a gallery. When I quest, there’s all sorts of stuff that I want to move to my shop to sell, but I have to go through each item slowly on quick stock to make sure I’m not stocking those foods.

Again, I’m not really sure there’s any need for a solution there and I’m not saying it’s an issue at all. It’s just my experience and I do sometimes wish it was different. However, I don’t know how it could be different or serve me better, lol, so back to square one. I think I may need to start making better use of the Vault as Lypsyl suggested, because that would probably solve those minor frustrations for me, too!

tldr; I get what you’re saying and am kind of on board with some updates, but also recognize I could probably adjust the way I play to make it easier on myself. :)

My vault is a black hole of things that I wasn't ready to sell, but eventually forgot about. Moving stuff there to sort later is an extra step that will probably lead to more of a backlog for me, so I'd rather keep the inventory as the main hub.

I'd love to see something done about the inventory. I hate having to deal with hunting through all the items (on the frag page) when I'm just wanting to frag cheap rares before quickstocking into my shop. Same goes for stocking super rares into my other shop.

Using my vault to sort, while a good idea, won't really work when I'm already using it for items I don't want to sell. Things are going to get mixed up and most likely forgotten since I have categories.

I gotta know - how many categories? :-D

Yes the Gourmand food is partly why I don't organize from the vault as I keep my immediate foods for feeding in the unorganized part.

I still suggest - matching Quick stock up more with the inventory (by user price maybe?) might be the solution. But I personally would rather be able to designate destination. :-P

LOL right now I'm down to 12, because the old shops got murdered so I eventually removed those categories. Its not enough though, because my vault also tends to be a black hole.

We need better/more storage space. Stuff with price info blatantly visible, not just in the hover. I want to frag anything less than 10K in value, but I can't do that without a great deal of work and/or time, so I just stuff everything in my vault to deal with "later" which never happens. In some ways I'd rather see current user price in the inventory rather than rarity.

Oh and here I thought you probably beat me at 32 categories!! :-D

I do see current user price in my inventory. That's strange you don't!

And that's what I love to have added to my Quick Stock so I can stock the good stuff and keep the frag crap out. Most of the time I go to frag and have to hover to check everything and then what I don't frag goes into a shop. But that has it's drawbacks too. Have you ever fragged a several mil sP item? :-D

hmm. I let my GA lapse a while back and haven't yet bothered to activate a new one, so I wonder if that's a new GA perk, like being able to see the prices in our shops. Well I've been planning to activate is soon, so I'll see then :).

LOL I haven't fragged a really pricey item, yet, but back in the days before we could lock inventory items I did manage to donate a 30% discount card, so yeah I'm fully capable of that kind of screw up.

My problem, as always, with adding stuff to QS is that there's already a lot there, and too much info can make the situation even worse. Maybe if there was something like a "toggle details" button that we could hit to see extra info when needed, but not have it there all the time?

Oh no!!!! Did you cry? Pretty sure I would have!

The toggle idea might work too - I agree about the amount of info on Quick Stock!

I just can't come up with a way that would make emptying my inventory easier! But hopefully someone smarter than I sees my plea and can come up with something!! :-)
