IIRC it was made some time ago that if you transfer a highly-trained pet to another player, the pet permanently loses some of its stats. Is this still the case, and if so, what level/tier of pet is affected?
Also (unrelated), is there any reliable(ish) way to reduce a pet's stats?
If I remember right it only affected pets who had stats over 2K, but I don't think it does that anymore. But I'm not totally sure.
To reduce stats:
Hydragellos Essence Stat Booster: Boosts Strength, Defense, Speed, Health and Intel 9-10 points. Level -1 to -10
Mixed Blessing Potion Stat booster: +3 to -1 level, +3 to -1 strength, +3 to -1 defense, +3 to -1 speed and +3 to -1 health.

It takes I want to say 20% off of pets with the 2k stats. I think that applies to if each stat is at 2k. But I've never given nor received a pet with stats totalling 2k let alone at 2k each...
As for reducing stats, are you seeking to reduce any in particular? Reducing level is tougher than the others. The leeches mentioned above affect the stats like speed, defense and strength.
Also ANY pet sent or recieved by transfer has to wait 30 days for battling.
Thank you, that was exceedingly helpful! <3
I have successfully leeched away a spare point of strength that has been annoying me for ages. Really would've liked to drain away a level also, but oh well... At least now my namesake's main stats are back to being all rounded out and equal, which should massively reduce the tooth-grinding annoyance I've been experiencing each time my eyes slide over those stats on the pets page. :D (Not quite in the realms of 75m worth of annoyance, though... eyes Hydragellos Essence)
Thanks for the advice!
I have a friend who's no longer playing and is planning to pass some of their pets on me. Right now they're unsure whether to hang on to some on the chance they'll want to return later; I said that obviously I would return any pets they wanted back in that case, but I wanted to double-check if there would be potential issues with that... I had no idea for example that pets can't battle for 30 days after transfer (makes sense I guess) which is something I'll have to let them know about.
If the 2,000 is per individual stat then the potential loss is a non-issue as their strongest pet is well below that (in the 1300-1600 range, so if it were cumulative it would be another matter). I guess the 30-day thing means that either way they'll only hand her over if they're pretty sure they won't return, so...
Hmm that does make things interesting indeed. I'd encourage them to keep their most favored pet and wait like 3 months and see if they even come around to subeta at all. If they don't it would be safe for them to give everything up. The down side would be if they gave it to you, you train the pet back up then have to watch that work reduce down again if they wanted the pet back. So I suggest they make certain they want to leave here before having such work wasted. I inly have T3 as my best battle pet at the work to get there has been a thing, so I can imagine seeing any stats raised to go away would suck.
Well, my friend has 21 pets, and I only have room for 6 more right now, so as much as I'm all YES I WILL TAKE THEM ALL, the glacial rate at which I make sP means saving for all those pet slots would probably take... uh a good few years (and loyalty boxes) to achieve. -_-; Aside from the 2-3 I really want (because they were mine first!), my cunning plan was to take in the strongest ones first so I could keep on training them (and, of course, benefit from the potential bonus battle loot), but it is starting to seem like this plan has flaws. I think maybe we'll do as you suggest, and wait and see if my friend's interest reignites. :)
I get the excitement over having battle worthy pets, however thinking this situation fully is best. I mean I too would love to have a higher than t3 pet, but I am not gonna stop working on thepets I have even if I got that lucky lol
"When you send a pet with 2000+ points in a single stat to a friend, the pet’s overall stats will be reduced by 10% Pets sent to you by friends are unable to battle for 30 days." From the Battle Guide! c:
Level reducers (really not worth it imo): -1 or -2 level -1-1 level(s) +5 to -2 level Level -1 to -10 +3 to -1 level (These have other effects too, please check before buying/using! There may also be others I haven't listed.)
Ah, I did skim through the site's FAQ before posting, but it did not even occur to me to look at the Battle Guide, oops. -_-;
Thank you kindly for the list of stat (de)boosters! And you're right, I don't much fancy any of them - the ones in the realm of what I might be prepared to pay seem to have a better chance of adding levels rather than taking away the one I want gone. Oh well, the irritation of that one extra point hasn't killed me yet so I suppose I can continue to live with it. :)
No worries! I had to ask a friend something about GAs the other day and I didn't even know there was a GA perks FAQ. O_O
Yeah, they're all horribly expensive and/or unlikely to give the right results. xD I thought I'd list them anyway just in case, but I would never recommend anyone use them! Glad you can live with it.
she could pound the pet one by one, and you could be ready to adopt it [since you already know it's name]. I don't think the chances of it being taken by another user are that high, and by doing so you won't lose stats either. I'm not sure about the battling though because even if i adopted from the pound several times, i never went to battle with the new pet.
good luck!

Heh, that is a cunning suggestion; thank you for the thought! Though looking again at the guide it doesn't make explicitly clear whether the stat loss affects only direct transfers, or also pets placed into the pound... I'm rather inclined to doubt whether staff would really have overlooked that potential loophole?
Either way, while stat loss is something I'd obviously prefer to avoid, I'd personally not choose to run the risk of slipping up somehow (General Error skewering us with a massive spike of lag at the critical moment, for example). Of course the choice is not really mine to make; I'll refer my friend to this thread when I get the chance. :)
If the pound constantly had 100+ pets in it that would be safe. With it having 20-30 pets average lately putting a pet in almost EVERYONE pound browsing would see it and likely have it adopted before 's friend can even say the pet was put in the pound. So it sounds like a few factors are in place with this particular situation. Base sounds like if the friend may want to even play on a light basis (I myself am like a stray cat coming and going) or leave for good. And if they leave it still sounds like a few decisions need to be thought over.
FINALLY GOT THE 15K WARDROBE DONE!!!!! Next up gutting and selling it.
OP could refresh the pound page like a mad-man, haha. I only gave a suggestion, they're free to do as they think is best, after all ;) ... i do agree with what you said.
looking at the "abandon pet" page it says that it will lose everything attached -TC items, weapons. Says nothing about the stats... so i really can't know. I only pounded pets with low stats, so those were not affected. Maybe your friend can make a ticket to be sure about this aspect. ;)

Also keep in mind that you can't use that pet for battling for 30 days once you adopt it.
also your pet won't drop any stats as long as its below 2k in each category as previously stated. It was put in place along with the 30 day rule to stop people from letting friends get loot from challengers they wouldn't normally be able to beat.
