I was reading through the rules and I didn't seem to find anything that could answer this question so I'm hoping I could find it here.

If you are needing an achievement for example such as having a pet of a certain color and someone has that said color. Could they transfer that said pet to you so you can get the achievement and then transfer back? Is there a rule against this?

As far as I know, there's no rule against it-- I've seen people do it before on the forums. The only catches are that you transfer at your own risk (the person may or may not return a pet) and the 30 day waiting period between transferring. Someone correct me if I'm wrong!

IDK if the rule has been changed but yeah, it used to be done all the time. I would pretty much only see it happening when a new color was released with an achievement for having a pet in that color. Just be aware that anything left in the pet's treasure chest will disappear during a transfer so be sure to empty it out beforehand.

I personally wouldn't "lend" a pet out. For me too much risk for someone to "forget" and not return or pass the pet forward to the next person. This like anything else can be misused. Also once you send a pet away you technically give up ownership and say so of what happens to the pet. Plus the 30 day wait before it can be returned via transfer vs hoping to do a pound grab can deter some people.

There was even a thread, I want to say 2 or 3 months ago, made to lend pets for color achievements aand the OP even stated in their post they loaned a pet out and the person never gave it back. This isn't like the subq sets where you can hold an item or sp until you got the set back, since to do that would be considered selling or trading for a pet.

That said, there isn't a rule about sending a pet to get a color achievement. But there also isn't a rule about giving the pet back either. So its highly an at risk option. I prefer to zap and once I hit a color I don't have, get the achievement then slip the pet into the pound to be a nice surprise for another person.

FINALLY GOT THE 15K WARDROBE DONE!!!!! Next up gutting and selling it.

I have not seen any rule against it but I personally would not lend a pet to someone else only cause of an achievment. It is too risky and you can't do a thing if the person you lend the pet to does not give it back after the 30 days waiting period. Even staff can't do a thing cause you gave away the pet freely and nothing states that the person you gave it to has to give it back. This can be especially risky with sought after names or pets with high stats.

I would rather get a pet to zap for the achievments. A lot easier and much less butthurt cause of the loss of a pet. You also can stalk the AC. There are often colored pets in it, even angelic ones and you can adopt them to get the achievment and as soon as you have it adopt them out again.

In player to player transfers the treasure and minion stay with the pet. I think they only end up cleared out/destroyed when you pound the pet.

Lending pets isn't against the rules, but it's very much an "at your own risk" venture, and it cannot be done in exchange for points, items, other pets, etc.

It's something that I would personally discourage strongly because there is a lot of risk involved.

As a note to pet lending, I feel like I should mention I've personally only ever seen this done with a pet someone snagged from the pound but didn't actually want. Rarely do people do it with their own pets-- names are a coveted commodity. Eventually someone stepped up asking if they could keep the pet, but pet lending doesn't have to be risky business unless you make it so. I'd never lend my own pet but passing around a pound pet people don't want to keep is a perfectly valid option for colour achievements. Just be smart about it-- if you love it, don't let it go.
