For example the item could be tagged as "Plushie - Feed" or something like that.
Some things are easy to tell what they are for, like plushies, beanbags and cards but when it's things like food, minions and even books sometimes it's hard to tell. I've bought toys/wearables/items that do nothing thinking they were minions more times than I'd like to admit :x
Maybe I'm just dumb, I don't know >.<
Full support! I always have to check new items on SubetaLodge in case they have multiple uses. Having it available on the hover would be really helpful. c:
The information can be found by looking up the item in the Item Directory if you're ever unsure. But I agree, it would be easier to have it in the hover info as well.
Yes please! Been wanting this for ages.
The item directory building does not always list all the uses - especially when it comes to older items. New ones are usually good. Also not all items are in the item directory building - collection bag items for example.
the problem here is that SubetaLodge staff don't have any special insight. We don't know item uses any better than the average user. We do generally check new items in the item directory, but its easy to miss multi-use items. We can also easily miss old items that get changed.
Basically, neither the item directory building, nor SubetaLodge are complete solutions to the problem. While both are helpful and useful, having the uses in the hover would be best.

Collection items show up if you search for them specifically, but yeah the search function isn't the best anyway. You have to enter exact item names for anything to come up, which can be confusing.
Oh? I didn't know that! Thanks. I've always just sorted it by item ID and looked on the last page to find stuff. So if stuff wasn't there, I just assumed it wasn't in the building at all.
LOL I've never bothered with the search function once I figured out how limited it was.

Oh I'd SUPER appreciate this, I'm always shocked to learn some things are food items so it'd be nice to be able to hover and check if it's something I should throw into my food storage when I get like, quest rewards and the like
Lol yeah, things can be hidden from the main pages but still be in there if you search for them, which can make it more confusing. I think the staff items and some battle opponent weapons are like that as well. Honestly, revamping the directory is a whole other suggestion.
But I do agree that having the info in item hovers would help with some of the current confusion and make it easier to find the info without having to go hunting around for it.
I remember bursting out in laughter when I found out my pet could EAT that banana plushie X_X
Ah, you make some great points! It would be even better for this to be implemented then to save you guys some effort and stop things getting missed. I do find SL a lot easier to use and more consistent than the item directory though, for sure.
I've accidentally bought a really expensive item thinking it was a minion but it wasn't. >.< I think knowing what the item is could be helpful but I worry the hover-overs would get too busy.
I support this.
While making the hover even longer, with even more information, is a little daunting, I can see the benefit here. There are so many uses to a lot of items, and I'm always afraid of missing a book that is disguised as a minion. (See Bitabook) I can't even imagine how difficult it is for other users who are more involved in gourmand or minion hunting.
I also support this! Sometimes it's really difficult to tell if an item has multiple uses—or any at all! I've purchased plenty of no-use items thinking they would be edible / readable / a minion (⏒﹏⏒; )
Let alone all of the clothes that are also food—I'm looking at you Eddie Bell line (¬ ‸¬ )
I suggested this a while back, so this gets my full support. My preference would to have that info in the hover, BUT as a compromise to the hover-haters... maybe have the item name in the hover link to that item's page in the item directory? As long as the directory is 100% up to date, anyways.
Sweet Treasures pet=Zagnut pet=Savour [Pet=Chivato] (Ikumoradeekanox)
I support this. I have done all of those things, plus bought extras from various holiday shops of things that looked also eatable but weren't and looked also wearable but weren't.
Right now the hover has a weird line where they mention the current price twice. This second line has no useful information. They could delete the extra one and put a "uses" line in that same place. That way the hover would be the same size.
I'm in full support of this, just yesterday, I purchased an expense item that appeared to be a book.... it was a minion, and I was sad. =(

Back this fully! I was only thinking about something like this last night when looking for things, I don't always have time to copy and paste a lot of items to different places like Subetalodge to try (and most times fail) to find out if it's what I believe it to be, the extra info is a must have in my eyes.
would be awesome but I wonder how do-able this is? I mean theres a lot of coding behind this right?
Not really difficult to code. The info is already in the database. At worst, they might need to rearrange the hover a little, but as said there's an extra price line that really isn't at all useful, get rid of that and replace it with the use(s). Done.
