There is a precedent for having the option to purchase alternate currencies in shops, such as Lounge Trinkets for Steamworks, so hopefully this idea doesn’t seem too far fetched. How about being able to purchase referral points? Obviously wouldn’t want to make it too easy or cheap, which is why I’m proposing the Loyalty Shop. It would be another way to get folks to spend loyalty points (and buy CSC to get them).

I don't really support this. The only reason I would support this is because I selfishly want more referral points.

The "precedent" you mention, , is only for Lounge for Steamworks. I can't think of any other shop that has this feature, making the trinkets be an outlier among all of the holiday shops to begin with. Additionally, it makes sense for Lounge/Steamwork trinkets because they're specifically for the same holiday event.

Referral points are specifically supposed to be difficult to get. Staff has already graciously provided an additional outlet via the Bathhouse.

If staff want to add Referral Points to purchase in the Loyalty Shop, I believe it will have nothing to do with precedent. That being said, I don't see this being enacted.

You can already get referral points from the Bathhouse, so I'm not sure how to feel about this. 😕

I think it's fine the way it is? Especially with all the other shiny things you can buy for loyalty points, and the limited supply of loyalty points.

Only people who can spend real money on the site can really get loyalty points, so that's favoring one part of the userbase to begin with. Could just as well pay a friend 5$ to register on this children's pixel doll and pet site and play for a bit, if you're that desperate for referral points. It more or less boils down to the same thing.

It seems like a long shot to me, too, but I thought I’d throw it out there! The primary reason for wanting any change is somewhat selfish, ha ha. It is supposed to be difficult, I agree, so I’m definitely not proposing point for point. And I guess as far as precedents, I was thinking of the item versions of currencies, such as raffle tickets, so probably not the best comparison! Thank you for sharing your feedback!

I appreciate your first two paragraphs, which seem to be sharing your opinion on the proposal. But I’m going to guess you know that many of the users here are adults, so your last paragraph was pretty condescending and unnecessary. I’m sorry that you felt the desire to say it. There are plenty of ways to disagree with someone without insulting them. I enjoy my time here and find no need to degrade it as a children’s game, any more than I would when I play a pick-up game of basketball. I hope you are able to find that same enjoyment in all of your hobbies.

@ Blythe I'm sorry if you felt it was condescending. I didn't mean for it to come across that way. :/ I meant it in a generalized way and I wasn't specifically aiming it at you.

[edit] I worded it a bit poorly but it boils down to the same thing - either you pay Subeta for loyalty points you could use to buy referral points, or you ask a friend to register for free (or compensate for their time in some way). It just feels like the conversion would cause more trouble than it'd be worth.

And... Subeta is a children's game. I'm not degrading anything by stating a fact. It's a PG13 online community with dressup games and pets, aimed at people 13 and up. I honestly don't know what's so insulting about that.
