I am training every day, and have battled each opponent 5 times up to General Error, [except that nasty Troll!] I won G.E. 1 time, but hes crit me the last 3 times, Ive also got some cash shop opponents, but not fought all those yet since the reset. Am I going in the right direction? is there anything I should be improving now, ready for the big boys later on? I would like to get eventually and fight my way to getting Baal and make eventually. I sometimes feel like Im not doing as well as I should be, when I read threads about people having tier 9 pets doing really well, it may be me having the wrong weapons in my default set [the first 8 in the pic] I do swap them about depending on the opponent. Also, would I do better taking out any scrolls and having more cobalts or exodins? Like most others Im looking for a good anti-freeze lol. Thank you for any help, I will read back. and apologies if this post is massive!

Scrolls
The first 10 scrolls are the default set.
First off, I would try and get to 10 wins on every challenger you can make it to because at win 10 you get the maximum EXP pay out. Also challengers now reward you with prizes beyond win 10. Easy challengers give decent prizes up to 200 wins, medium goes to 100, hard goes to 75, very hard to 50, and so on. It's a great way to get loot a little exp and at certain points you could get a mage amulet or tome. Something to consider for later on down the road.
Now that only applies to Normal tab challengers and some secret tab challengers. With cash shop, event, and other challengers you only get exp and or loot for up to 10 wins only.
Anyway just wanted to pass that along first and foremost and if you need any help with any challenger, please feel free to ask I can help as best I can.
Weapon and scroll wise, well that always depends on the challenger you face. I usually find you don't need to change your set any until you start reaching Very Hard and beyond and even then sometimes you don't even need to change your default for Very Hard either.
Sorry I'm sure that helped nothing I apologize and I'm sure someone else can come in and help answer more of your questions.
First and foremost, have you modded your weapons? You mention wanting more anti-freeze, your best bet is to equip parched baguette crystals(I tend to run at least four across two weapons, using the other slots for blessing of natural armor tear crystals if facing steal-happy opponents or else critical strike tear crystals) and hope to trigger the parched blessing.
IEH and Phoenix Quill are pretty standard for any set(unless your foes disable freezing/healing). The Ether is also solid but keep in mind that it blocks physical, so it isn't doing you much good against opponents who deal different icons. Recycle Blaster and Soma Tablets IMO are the two you could almost certainly ditch for any given battle in favor of Rainbow Vortex(being a fullblocker) and most likely another healer(Reviver of the Lion at 90%, Amulet of Drakkonis at 50% with a very rare chance of 100%, or Core of the Island which scales by int for a minimal of 10% and maximum of 40%. As memory serves all of these can be equipped at one time in addition to the Phoenix Quill).
I've also found Cobalt Eternal to be not as useful as it used to be. Investing in more Shrieks would up your chance of chain-freezing significantly and with where you are stat-wise, that can make a big difference.
I hope this helps.
Im in England, Im sorry if I dont get back to you quickly. Thank you for your input, any advice is welcome, I think I was a bit disheartened having to fight them all again lol, but obviously thats the wrong attitude lol. I dont know how people fight 100+ times the same opponent. Im just up to General Error but after my first win, hes winning every time, I will start at the bottom and go to 10 with each one for the extra EXP. I have been advised to get/make the new scrolls I read a little about those, do you recommend them at all? and
Thank you too for your info, Im sorry it was late last night and I forgot to put about the mods, yes, I have got parched, blessings and critical strike mods on them all. You favour lots of defense/healing over blasting their weapons, I will try that,I will get more shrieks then and remove what cobalts I can. As I mentioned above, someone recommended the new 'Cold Blast' and 'Green Thumb' scrolls do you have any thoughts on those please? I did read a thread about them but am still unsure. Thanks again.
Okay then, that's good to know. Yes, I tend to favor defense/healing over blasting by and large, when I had my own pet at T11 having two healers made up a lot of difference over the course of a long battle. Now, if you can actually hit the correct opponent weapons when you blast that is definitely better than carrying an extra healer or blocker, but some opponents have scrolls that have effects more-so than the weapons they carry. It's really a matter of knowing the icons and effects each opponent wields and tailoring your scrolls and weapons accordingly to deal with them.
Looking up Cold Blast Scroll's stats on Subetalodge, it does have a lower freeze rate(71%) compared to a Shriek(85%)', and you have the same health penalty(-3%) but you do get some extra attack icons in and it requires fewer AP. I'd say that trade off there is probably worth it on the whole. Green Thumb Scroll seems like a decent OPB bomb.
Yes, I think thats why I made this thread, Im learning that where I used to just bash away at things, its all about strategy now, and Im floundering a bit and unsure how to spend my hard earned sp lol. Wesker was really helpful and said try to get good blockers for most icons so thats the way Im hoping to go, Thank you for your time and trouble.
There is still some mindless clicking involved if you can set up chain freezing on most opponents, but yeah, strategy has become much more important all around.
As far as element coverage, it look's like you're doing good with the OHS(earth block), Ether(phys), DGR(light), Swash(wind), and even the USS with 40 magma/ice. I'd advise turning your Hydragellos Maniacal Core into a Maniacal Essence so you add a dark blocker, since right now it blocks 75 light against the Dark Goddress Rod's 90 light(just be aware that you'd lose the HMC's chance of a one-turn all block blessing). You already know about Natasha and Cronus Blade for fire and magma respectively. I believe that Manifesting Weapon blocks water. Looks like Sandreaver and Wand of the Phoenix would be the high ice blockers, but they may be hard to come by; Glacial Ring offers 75 ice and 75 wind but that's mostly a defensive role rather than attacking, so probably not as worth it.
On another note, sometimes all you really need is to just raise your stats higher. It's not the most satisfying answer but occasionally that's all that it comes down to unless you're determined to grind away over and over.
Anyway, you're welcome, and I hope that this help you and that you start getting the wins you're after soon.
Yes Im hoping to try and win a gelatin thing next time the opponent comes round. I do train every day but its once a day now, I was autotraining, but im not sure its worth it any more, I think I only get 3 stats from it unless Im very lucky, I also buy boosters when im feeling flush. Thank you for your help, and also I know that others get help from these threads even when they dont post, I learn so much in the battle forums, its just keeping it in my puny brain!
Yeah, a Gelatin Concoction. It's unfortunate that those are tied into an achievement rather than a loot drop. I'm sure you'll be able to pull it off once the next invasion comes around.
As far as training, I agree that you aren't getting as much from it with autotraining at this point. You could probably stop that and just invest in BQs every day instead and save up the pure/csc you'd otherwise be spending. Boosters are good, especially if you trade tokens down for the battle shop variety(ie Frozen Froth, though the easy level boosters in enough quantity are well worth it), since those are essentially free.
