I thought it would be fun to do a Photography Challenge, maybe a 30 day challenge? I couldn't find any online that didn't include "Self Portrait" sadly, because I really don't want to do a Self Portrait. :(

My Ideas: Landscape/Waterscape Nature Wildlife Still Life

I might be interested :D I don't think I could do a daily challenge, but maybe a weekly challenge instead?

Also, I'm not much into portraits either, but anything related to the natural world and still life would be fine with me.

I could do weekly. gives time to change your mind if you get a better shot of something else! another idea would be the "Alphabet Challenge" - where week 1 you start with the letter A, and you will be photographing something that starts with the letter A. Of course, it doesn't have to be in order, either. letters can be randomized until you eventually finish the Alphabet. A group on FB i'm in does this challenge, and is on "P" this week. I took a photo of a Peppermint Candy lol. Not a winner, but i wanted to participate.

I joined this year's photoclass on Reddit (link) and the person who runs it focuses on technical challenges that help you learn the ins and outs of your camera. I haven't started any of the challenges yet, but would that be something that interests you?

Or maybe we could do two challenges each week - one technical and the other alphabetical? That way we can learn something and also have the freedom to take a picture of whatever we want that week :P

Two challenges a week seems great, I love that idea! Is there already a forum group for photography on here? that might be a fun idea to make this easier on people who want to be pinged in for challenges, & they can choose to participate,etc. c;

I came across by looking through the topics to find something i could be interested in and found your topic. I'm not a photographer but your idea sounds to get be merry. ^-^

As long as i don't have to take a self portrait (or other peoples) it would possible for me to take some photos - from time to time. Nature, (Water)Landscape and Wildlife sounds great for me. The Alphabet Challenge sounds interesting too.

Can i participate with my Polaroid 600 Land Camera or do you prefer digital cameras? I ask, 'cause the digital camera i have isn't really good and for the Polaroid i was buying a "new" pack 5+ years ago and i only have make one photo in this time. >o<°

You don't have to be a photographer to be interested in Photography. ^_^ I don't mind what you use as long as you can scan your photos to show off on here/in a group for the challenge! I know when I did film for a while, they gave me a photo disc with digital copies of the photos after I had them developed. (developing film is pricey ;w;)

I made a forum group just for this occasion, are there any who are more advanced in Photography (as in experienced, photography school/college,being a professional - not required) who would be interested in being an Admin??

I was thinking we would split challenges into two groups - one for more intermediate/advanced, and one for more beginners - so challenges are more fair. ^_^

Would we use "finished Challenges" (also similar lists from the Internet) or would we create "new Challenges" and brainstorming here in the Topic? Or a mix of both?

I wish i had 5-10 photos i could show you (and the rest)! >O< laugh I mean, sure i have some photos, but they was taken by my Nintendo 3DS some years ago. And for a Contest Nintendo was holding. Maybe i will check my little Collection around the upcoming week.

I will create a "Challenge Suggestions" separate from the regular suggestions topic in the group :) The "Finished Challenges" Topic is also a good idea, I will make that once we have done our first challenge (need more members first!) - Challenges will be chosen by a random generator to make it fair. ^_^

This sounds like fun! I used to do this on an old forum, winner would host the following week’s contest. Would the photo have to be taken that week though or can you submit any photo you’ve taken that fits the week’s theme? Otherwise one week might be a bit short for me with work and college and whatnot.

the photo doesn't have to be taken that week! ^_^ otherwise I wouldn't have time myself, since my 1 year old Borzoi pup has surgery on his leg for a broken leg tomorrow morning. I just want to get at least 10 members before I start doing competitions, so it's fair and not so limited, or at least 5 of each category, as well as one or two admins.
