I really like cartoons and animation in general, so I wanted to hear what some of you guys favorite cartoons are/were!
I don't watch a lot of Cartoons these days, but when I do, I still love to watch Spongebob and The Loud House. My favorite anime would have to be Fullmetal Alchemist.
Since I am old I mostly love the old cartoons I grew up with as well, for example "The World of David the Gnome" (always watched it when I visited my grandparents, hearing the theme song makes me cry now because memories), "Heidi, Girl of the Alps", "Doctor Snuggles", "Bannertail: The Story of Gray Squirrel", "Calimero", "The Animals of Farthing Wood", "Taotao", "The Wonderful Adventures of Nils" " or "Alfred J. Kwak". But I also used to watch "The Simpsons" a lot.
I've heard very good things about the loud house, it looks like a very nice show to get into, FMA is always a top tier anime (I watched it back in highschool. Cried my heart out). Spongebob, to be perfectly honest I mainly watched the first three seasons but I heard the newer seasons are pretty good!
Don't hate me for this, I don't recognize a lot of the shows you've mentioned (I recognize farthing woods, heidi and the simpsons). BUT that only means that I have more shows to add to my rec list!
@ Beedril Theses shows are mainly from the 70s and 80s so I don't blame you for not being familiar with them. :3
Thank you for making this topic by the way, took me back to my childhood for a while which felt good...even though the (German) intro songs of David the Gnome and Taotao once again made me cry, haha
P.S: I also forgot to mention so many shows it seems, He-Man for example or Alice in Wonderland.
Aw, no problem! Sometimes its fun to look back on childhood shows. For example, recently I've been rewatching some of the old Cartoon Network pilots, back from the 90's, and it's interesting to see that there were certain trends amongst most of the pilots.
As far as modern day cartoons go I really like Steven Universe and Gravity Falls. But some of my all-time favorites are the ones I grew up with like TaleSpin (obviously XD), The Legend of White Fang, Tiny Toon Adventures, Animaniacs, etc.
I remember watching The World of David the Gnome when I was really little, Swift was my favorite character.
Danny Phantom is getting a reboot so I started re-watching that. And then there's Ed, Edd, and Eddy that I miss. And Dexter's Lab... man the good stuff.
Me too! I always loved foxes. But I also liked Lisa a lot.
Cartoons I liked as an adult: Avatar and Young Justice
Cartoons I liked as a kid: Tailspin, Darkwing Duck, Ducktales, TMNT, Wild Thornberrys, Recess, Chip n' Dale: Rescue Rangers, Static Shock, and many more.

A LOT of my loves are from the 90s...so: Gargoyles (<3 my Demona) Beetlejuice X-Men (the 90s series and Evolution) Avengers: United We Stand (90s as well, very short sadly) Gravity Falls (at least the episodes I've caught) Steven Universe (also ones I saw) Batman Beyond TailSpin Adventures from the Book of Virtues Cro (educational but funny) Recess Hey Arnold Mummies Alive! Captain Planet Sonic AM Digimon (First 2 seasons) Mighty Ducks wasn't bad Beast Wars (Machines wasn't bad either) Redwall Captain Simian ReBoot (<3) TMNT: Next Mutation (not sure if it counts as a cartoon but) Road Rovers
Miraculous Ladybug and Archer are my two modern favorites. <3
Some current cartoons that I enjoy are We Bare Bears and Over the Garden Wall. Cartoon Network is killing it with the new TV shows!
As for ones that I used to watch back when I was little I'd say Phineas and Ferb, The Replacements and Totally Spies.
When I was a kid I was really into a show called Young Robin Hood. I've never met anybody else who watched it. You can find information about it online now, but when I was in high school I was trying to prove it was a real thing and couldn't find any proof and was starting to wonder if I had imagined the whole thing.

Of the more recent cartoons, Steven Universe is very much a favorite, it's just a darned shame that cartoon network is being foolish with how they handle the scheduling.
The husband and I still quote Ed,Edd and Eddy to each other. Samurai Jack's ending made me tear up. I'm also a Studio Ghibli fangirl with a Totoro tattoo.
As a kid I recall coming home from school and plastering myself to the screen to watch Battle of the Planets and G-Force, then promptly running outside to join the rest of the neighborhood kids in reenacting the episodes every day.
I love animation! Tv shows and films. My favorites have been mostly the DC comics series of Batman, Superman, Justice League, etc. I'm glad they still make films from time to time- direct to DVD/Bluray.
I love Teen Titans GO!, TMNT, and so on. My list would be embarrassing long really. Although I'm not a fan of The Simpsons, Family Guy and the like which shocks people.
I love animated shorts (films) especially from Pixar and Disney.

Sorry for taking so ong to answer! Kinda had a busy weekend!
DC series tend to be better than the marvel ones in my opinion, though i'm not really a fan of Teen Titans GO! Can apreaciate how it at least tries to be its own thing and have it's own identity, unlike other Cartoon Network reboots.
Disney and pixar films are good for the soul. I want to get arround watching the great mouse detective someday
The Great Mouse Detective is well, great :D There's a few others that are from that time in Disney history that people don't always remember:
The Rescuers, and it's sequel Oliver and Co.
There's one animated film that's similar to the Disney film Aristocats, it's called Gay Purr-ee it was released in 1962. I love the music and art style.
I'm a big fan of stop-motion. I especially like the films from the Laika
The US and Japan seem to have cornered the market on animation but I love to watch shows and films from other countries as well:
like the company Aardman Animations in the UK They made things like Shaun the Sheep, Wallace and Gromit, Flushed Away and Chicken Run
There's a really cute pre-school series that first aired in Ireland called Puffin Rock. I just love the art style and the stories are simple of course but very cute
I can get carried away on this subject :)

Its nice to hear you like international animation! Personally i've been meaning to get into this show that is shown in cartoon network latin america, called jorel's brother. It's a brazilian production and from what little i've seen i liked it!
Another thing I have always wanted to watch, that im 90% sure it's an european production is moomin. It just looks so cute!
Stop motion is really underapreaciated and it needs more recogniztion cuz when its well done its amazing
Moomins is a cute series. I think a lot of people assume it's Japanese.
I forgot about Inspector Gadget! The original series. I loved that show, and the theme song
I also love the mini animated series they often show briefly during commercial breaks between shows on Disney channel, etc like Oddbods, Yupyups, etc they are often very stylized, colorful and have no dialogue. I love to look for what's new in animation as well. Short films being submitted for awards and even class projects of animation students. I just watched one called "Wakan".
