I've never posted in here or really in forums in general so feel free to boot /delete if not appropriate or duplicate--I tried my best to sift through current topics! I'm also new to survival so not exactly battin 100 ANYWAYS

when someone kisses you, you get an event notification that says something like:

Quote
X has given you a kiss and a Too Hot To Handle Candy Heart x3! Make sure to give them a kiss back!
it would be super helpful if the 'give them a kiss back' was a link to actually kiss them (or a link to their profile) perhaps this is small potatoes, but I think it would really simplify the process and make it more enjoyable c:

I agree - this would be useful! I’ve gotten a few random kisses here and there, and I’ve been using the notepad to create a little link to return the favor. This would make it easier. c:

For sure!

Unless they are a friend AND have the kiss link in their status AND they are currently onsite AND you have the friend widget running - its a huge giant pain to kiss them back.

I too use the notepad, but my notepad is already filled to the brim with stuff and its a nuisance.

Yesyesyesyes! :'D It would be wonderful if this could be implemented! It would save me so much notepad widget space, and I'd be able to give a kiss back for every kiss given.

Keep in mind though, that if the link were added, it would expire after a little bit. So I'm not sure how helpful it would really be, because unless you're online when the other person kisses you, it'll likely be expired by the time you see the event.

I wonder... Would it be possible to make it a hover link to the user's profile? Most people do put the kissing sCode into their status.

So something like: " has given you a kiss and # Candy Hearts! Make sure to give them a kiss back!"

Or would that overload the site? Especially in the cases when you end up with 40+ kissing events.

Even though by this point it's post-pandemic, I think that this would be a super useful addition. I mean, not everyone has a "kiss" link on their profile, and it is an easy solution instead of having to track down the person to return the favor.

Why do the links expire? This is one of the most completely annoying problems with Survival, especially when combined with the cooldowns I know are necessary to keep the servers alive. Sometimes if you try to kiss someone but misjudge your cooldown time, the link expires within the cooldown time!

Many of my friends have custom profiles that are pretty but useless; they basically consist of a giant static image with a tiny box you scroll through to find their info, and frequently there is no kiss link. I made a profile widget with links to kiss all of them in it, but I have to refresh my profile every single time I use it when I'm returning kisses or doing a kiss-all-my-friends-in-order day.

Afaik, the links expiring are meant to deter the use and limit the usefulness of autorefreshers. If they didn't expire, the site would basically roll over and die under the stress, and getting holiday currency would be as effortless as leaving your PC on for a few days with an autorefresher doing all the work.

I'm not sure I understand how that would work, since an autorefresher would also refresh the link on the page.

An autorefresher just reloads the page every couple of minutes. It doesn't click any links for you. So if a link expires, you have to click it manually to kiss someone again.

If the links didn't expire, someone could just click one kissing link for a random user (or even an inactive one), set an autorefresher, pin the tab and go do other things. At the end of the day, they'd end up with a small mountain of currency with zero effort and zero actual participation. Or they could even leave their PC running overnight, refreshing the page while they sleep. But because the link expires, that's not possible.
