Was thinking of a way to make biting and getting bitten easier and thought that maybe something along these lines could be implemented in future? It's pretty late into the event so I don't know how likely it would be that something like this could be added for this year, but just thought I'd throw it out there!!

• A Random Bite button (like the random TOT button) that matches you with a user currently seeking your strain (the skin you're wearing or your currently developing infection if you aren't wearing a skin) or with people seeking random bites.

• A page that displays people looking for bites from strains you have/have equipped.

I think it would make the whole biting mechanic a bit easier and would help users who don't usually stop by forums to still get in on the action! Just an idea, but ty for reading! :)

I made a topic about something similar a while back, and suggested a "mystery=" code for a randomizer for various on-site activities like kissing, dancing, etc.

Like "mystery=kiss", "mystery=bite" and so on.

Random kiss or Random bite buttons would be SUPER useful! Especially if that option gives less of a wait time in-between, like the dancing during Masquerade (IIRC... or was that only TOT during Morostide?)

Ooh I really like this idea, definite support for both! Being matched up with someone for those that are more shy/antisocial and don't feel like messing with the forums sounds great and random(faster) kissing too!

It's both, you were right. Fast pass buff for toting during Morostide and quick feet buff for dancing during Masquerade

I like the idea, but not so much randomly biting people seeking a random strain. I select that option because it's free, and I'd rather not spend sP if I can avoid it and still get the strain I want. While I might end up with something I don't want selecting a random strain, I have more control over what I could get. If there were a random bite option, there is even less control over what I'm getting. Granted, the point of the random strain is to not know what you could end up with, but I'm sure lots of people use it because they don't want to spend so much sP for an older strain.

As for the random kiss option, I love the idea and would use it all the time!

Please. I'm worried that poor is going to have a nervous breakdown trying to maintain the biting index thread. Hell, I feel like I'm going to have a nervous breakdown just visiting it. It wasn't so bad until everyone got through their initial infection and started clamouring for bites all at once... that includes me, lol.

Even some kind of ping group system would be good. I brought that idea up, but it's like - I don't know if people are going to join a or maintain a ping group that's only used like two weeks out of the year. If it could be coded using the same mechanics as a ping group, but disappearing when Survival isn't going on, that'd be wonderful.

That's a good point. I think they should make it so you can opt in and out of random bites.

And hey, if you spend the sP for a strain, then give some VIP (eheh) treatment by showing a checklist of us volunteer applicants who have yet to be infected, sorted by strain & with a 'bite' button next to their name.

As for random viruses, an option to participate or not --because I'm planning for my next strain to be one of the rarer ones, & I'll pick 'random' because I don't know who will be available to bite, but it'd be nice to still get one of those.

I've been thinking how it would be nice if things worked like that so full support.

If we had something like this I'd actually do some biting. I like to help out those who may not be as active or realize you have to be bit to get infected faster.

And yes to random kissing. I still miss that program Keith made years ago that did this.

Yeah that biting thread - while super helpful - is also super stressful. I would love a random biting link for my strain. And random kiss link would be great too!

I love both of these ideas. It would be a lot of fun for someone looking for a surprise. And if it only worked for people trying to get a certain strain it would help them catch a virus faster and for people trying to get the bite achievement.

BUT

How would it work for people who sign up for random but only want a something from a short list of strains? Or people who sign up for random but already have some strains. I would like to be able to ask for a random from a short list or at the very least not end up suffering a strain I already have. It is nice to get a surprise I just don't want a yucky one. I like QqQ's suggestion of having a way to opt in or out of the mystery biter.

Is there a suggestion thread for next years virus ideas or zapper skin requests?
