I'm not sure if this is really that big of a deal, but on the VIP page I'm still getting the message that says:
Thanks for your interest in becoming an Infection Specialist!
Unfortunately, your strain hasn't progressed far enough for your bite to be effective, but try again later!
However, on the forums I can see the bite button for people who have chosen my strain or the random choice one. Which makes sense because I'm on stage 5/6 for Freckle Fever. It's just weird that the VIP page still says I shouldn't be able to bite, even though I have progressed far enough.
[edit]It's also still giving me the option to pay to remove my virus on the VIP page, which it probably shouldn't be doing anymore either since I can bite and it's almost finished progressing.
[edit]Edit again because it seems like actually clicking on the Bite button gives me the message that my bites won't infect anyone. So I guess the glitch is that the bite button is showing up too early?
Either way, it's caused some confusion with the new strains as well, showing that they can bite but clicking the button doesn't do anything.
- I think everyone can see all of the bite buttons on the forum regardless of their own status. Or am I remembering wrong?
You can see when someone is looking for a strain because it will have the biting icon, but the button itself is grayed out unless they've chosen the strain you have or the free any virus option.
I just don't remember in the past if the button only became clickable once you are actually able to bite, or if it always shows up and just tells you that your bite is ineffective if you try biting before you've reached the correct stage.
Sort of. We can see the bite button, but the word "bite" is grayed out if you can't bite them - so if you have a different virus than they've chosen for example.

- ah that makes sense, thank you. I do remember being told my bite was ineffective in the past, but am not really sure whether it's supposed to work like that now. I had forgotten about the grayed out part.
