Hello! My name is Vii, and I'd love to apply for this inspiring character. Maylene is a beautiful name, and when I was looking into the origins of the name, inspiration slapped me in my face. :'D

A lot of the different origins for the name Maylene are ocean-centric: star of the sea, pearl, etc. The character that I came up with is inspired by the Ama - the pearl-diving mermaids of Japan. They are women in small ocean-side villages that live their lives diving for shellfish, seaweed, and pearls. They would, and still do, dive with just a bucket and are known to hold their breath for around two minutes. It's a wonderful traditional occupation, and I find the concept of it unique and beautiful.

I would want Maylene's character to be a pearl-diver. She was raised in a small seaside village and is an expert diver, combing the ocean floor for food for her village and pearls for wealth. Her village is close-knit, and she is a confident, lively young woman known for both her joviality and her temper. She doesn't hold back when it comes to her thoughts and emotions, so she is honest but can also be blunt or abrasive at times.

I am an artist, graphic designer, and writer, skills that are put to use on this website. I'm a long-time Subeta player, and I love to create characters and stories and showcase them. Drawing is on hold due to nerve damage I am chronically suffering from, but that gives me more time to focus on writing character's stories and designing their profiles. I've had several pets win the spotlight, and some of my more recent completed pet profiles are Qiu and Niale. some of my current works in progress include Hizaki and Cirus.

Because of her oceanic theme, I would want Maylene to be an Experiment . I have a stock of Experimental Dew, and I am also very, very dedicated when it comes to zapping for experiments. I will rain money and token down upon Euclid until I get what I want. Sometimes it happens slowly, sometimes quickly, but the right zap always happens eventually. x'D
