Okay, so we all know Elsie, the girl who runs Half Baked. Anyone notice how she looks a lot like Sarah's late sister Amy? She has similar hair, clothes, freckles... I think this is a hint that she IS Amy, back from the dead. You guys think there's gonna be a plot that reveals this as canon, and maybe she'll get de-zombified and there'll be a happy reunion between her and Sarah? And after that, do you think she'll go back to hosting the newbie quests, or continue working at Half Baked? I just wanna know your opinions on this.

EDIT: Okay, quick update. I just looked her up in the Subetapedia and her profile says "NOT AMY" in big letters. Is it me, or does it seem just a little suspicious that they'd feel the need to say that? Almost like they're hiding something...

There's definitely an odd situation surrounding Elsie.. From what I think is to be the first news post introducing Elsie, users in the comments were just about immediately linking her to Amy. A few items have been made that allude in the description to their resemblance, but I'm not sure if it's to be taken seriously or if it's just to get the userbase riled up. 😒 Tbh, I have no idea what to think or what might be the truth or what might even happen. 😭 Amy was a bit before my time, so I don't quite have the attachment to her that others seem(ed) to, but a revival plot could be very interesting :o It's been years since the plot where Amy died.. it apparently was in 2009.. that could make for a good 10-year-anniversary plot in 2019, however. I'd be excited for that sort of plot, though xD but, for all I know, Subeta's made it all some purposefully false lead and it's gonna turn out to really be some unexpected twist like how it's been Amy's long-lost never-mentioned twin or something insane like that. <_<

The Subetapedia claims that Elsie and Sarah are good friends, and I would think Sarah would recognize her own sister when she saw her, but since [I don't think] we've ever gotten any information from Sarah about Elsie, it could go either way on what Sarah knows/thinks. 😓

I've always assumed she's Amy with how she looks like she was drowned and all. I've been on Subeta since 2004 and I still remember the 2009 plot pretty clearly. The main inconsistency is that Elsie appears to be older than Amy. Amy was a small child. This would be the question of how soon did she die after being dragged down into the depths. Perhaps Merana didn't kill her bit instead let her live for a while (although I doubt it). Or... perhaps some Unliving can still manage to age. Who knows? =o

I wasn't around for the plot with Amy, but this has been a theory for a long time.

Yes there are the items and stuff alluding to it but I wouldn't be surprised if that was just staff messing with us or making jokes about how it's a common theory among players. It wouldn't be the first time they've done running gags with item descriptions or item sets and stuff like that.

It's hard to say. I'm not really for or against the idea myself, although there are some things they would have to explain if they ever did do something with this, like how she became a zombie and what Merana did with her if she wasn't drowned right away.

IDK if they ever will do anything like this though, it's been a long time and at this point if they did decide to go against their stance of "Elsie isn't Amy" it might come across as just changing things to appease the people who have been insisting on it for so long.

Here's my conspiracy theory on the Amy/Elsie/Sarah thing:

Amy was scheduled for and got redrawn. What was created from that revamp is now known as Sarah. Someone decided that it would be more interesting to make them sisters and kill off the old image(Amy) to really punch up the plot. Show that this is not a baby site for babies. It's a site where sometimes little kids get sacrificed to sea witches and they DIE. And, not only do they die, they leave family behind and everyone is oh-so-sad. (we had to renounce being an islander and throw in a daisy if we wanted access to the pirate thing. I NEVER did that (islanders forever.), but that gimmick was eventually removed.) So, Sarah, as a character, did not exist before coming into being for the plot to make a play at your heartstrings. & Elsie is then a joke character that's totally designed after Amy; freckles, hair style, shirt. She's both Unliving Amy but is also not, as she does not really matter. (but in a nice way, she runs a good shop.)

Anyway... This is the truth, everything else is just lies.
