Extra info: The above reference was very quickly/loosely cobbled together, and isn't exactly accurate, unfortunately. XD His eyes should be amber (with the left one having a splash of clear blue in with the amber). And I'd love it if you could do an emerald green cape and have him holding a spear. But since you don't want too many details, only do what you want, of course. I'm pretty open as long as long black hair, tannish skin, amber eyes and green/gold clothing/armor colors are represented. The world that he's from is more Asian-Fantasy if that helps your design any! Otherwise, your creative license is welcome!

I was thinking the ji. Or a 'wasp shaped spear head'. By which I mean the main spear blade with four small offshoot blades from the hilt of the spear's head in a sort of thin four-winged insect pattern. Does that make sense? XDD If I didn't describe the shape well, the traditional ji is fine. And would be fine anyway--whatever you'd wanna do.
