I've decided that 2018 is the year I Finally Learn to Paint (hashtag LoftyFreakinGoals), so I'm looking for subjects to practice on while I try out various tutorials and stuff. Above ^^ is my latest freebie so you know roughly where I'm at.

Please post your HA's or characters for me to try some headshots/busts. Anything with a human(ish) face is fine (I won't be doing animals/quads/anthros, sorry!). These will all be a bit experimental so quality/style etc will vary, and I might be a bit slow.

Storytime: I've been neglecting my art a bit over the past year and a half, partly because I feel like I've hit a wall with both traditional and (especially) digital and partly because I got a girlfriend ( ❤ ) so my time alone has been cut right down. So I have all kinds of good new years resolutions that I'm going to make it a priority and keep challenging myself to learn more and get a bit closer to where I want to be, hence this thread. I'm also going to keep posting in the 'draw the human avatar above you' thread and will post those here too.

Turns out green skin is hard, eheheh. I nearly scrapped it halfway through when she started looking like the last avacado on the shelf...just about managed to claw it back I think. The hair was fun though.

If my avatar (sorry if there's a zombie infection going on - I tried to put liquid latex on to cover it, the skin is usually a fairer tone) is at all inspirational to you, I'd adore some art! If not though, I understand, and hope you find some art to do here that brings back that spark!

you really put effort into the details, that green skin looks amazing. The cracks remind me of the shellac of that chocolate almond candy popular during weddings, baby showers, Easter...
