I know that there was a similar topic a few years ago, but it was locked due to nerco so I figured I would start a new one since I am actively using it again and would love to connect with more people!

So, do you use Goodreads? If so, do you use it to find new books to read? To keep track of your reading? Are you active in the reviewing community?

Would anyone be interested in a reading group on Goodreads? I have found a lot of fun reading and reviewing books lately and would LOVE to have the opportunity to interact a bit more with other readers! If there is an interest I would be more than happy to start a "Book of the Month" kind of lowkey group. ;)

I'm on Goodreads here... feel free to add me but plz tell me who you are lol. Mostly I just use it to keep track of my reading. I write reviews on occasion, when a book makes enough of an impression that I can actually organize my scattered thoughts into something coherent. But I read suuuuuper slow due to lack of time/opportunity (not at all for lack of books haha) so I think I'd fail pretty hardcore at a reading group. ^^;

I have a goodreads account. AshleyOswalt92. I haven't been on in about 2 months due to a reading slump and being busy with my 14 month old who is super attached to his mommy. & getting ready for his baby sister to arrive. I'd love to have new friends though! Even on here just to talk about books.

I would also be interested in a reading group I'm just not sure how active I would be with reading a certain book only bc at times it takes me awhile to find time to read and I have such a huge tbr list as it is!

That could work. Maybe a book or two from different genres? I dont know what you read but I mostly stick to cozy mysteries, a little YA, and thriller/suspense.

That's a good idea, and maybe books could be selected by a popular vote or something. A mixture of popular and hidden gems, maybe? I have been branching out a bit, but lately it has been a lot of fantasy and historical fiction. I love thrillers and cozy mysteries but was so disappointed by the last few that I read I haven't bothered... but there are a couple of upcoming releases I hope to get my hands on :P

I like that idea. I used to love fantasy but as I get older it just doesn't hold the same interest to me. I read a little fantasy YA like a court of thorns and roses series. It's so fantastic. The last few cozies I read weren't that great either but currently I am reading the witch city series by Carol j perry and they are easy to get into and follow.

I do as well, hopefully there will be a bit more interest! :) Right now I have a small pile of digital ARCs to read and review; right now I am reading My Name is Venus Black.

I finally accepted your goodreads request bc I'm awful. I've always wanted to be a big reviewer. I just never knew how to get started. I'm almost done with my cozy and about to start The Throne of Glass.

As for interest I hope there is some. If not I guess its a 2 person group lol.

Hahaha no worries! I am just starting out with reviewing, and tbh I don't really know what I am doing but it's going well! I signed up for NetGalley (free!) as a consumer reviewer and started requesting books that looked interesting. I've been approved for 12 so far (declined twice) and just write my reviews on Goodreads & crosspost on Netgalley. I am finding my voice as I go along and figure I'll figure it out as I go. Maybe eventually I'll start a blog as well.

How was your cozy? I just finished My Name is Venus Black and am about to start A Treacherous Curse, but that is the last book in my pile, barring the one I just cannot get into.

Well that sounds fun. I don't know what kind of review I would even write. I just thought it would always be fun to get books before everyone else haha.

Also I made a NetGalley account ages ago but I got the impression they didn't consider Goodreads to be good enough to get approved so I've not applied for anything.

Thanks for the add, and I accepted! Definitely give NetGalley a try - I was approved 15/17 times without having anything more than Goodreads. I started a book blog two months ago but I wanted to build it up a bit before linking it there, so I know it didn't help me. :D

SO what kinds of things would you all like to read? Right now I am re-reading the Aegis League series because I got an arc for the third book and wanted a refresher :D I just finished Children of Blood and Bone and was completely blown away -- it comes out this Tuesday

For me, I like listening to nonfiction audiobooks and reading fiction books. I've been on a nonfiction kick lately, but I usually like realistic/general fiction, thrillers, and romance novels.
