So I was about to comment someone when I checked the preview of my comment first. In the message I had written a heart as <3 <3 And in the preview everything after this heart had disappeared. So I replaced it with ❤ ❤ and everything came back.

Not sure if the heart using the bracket would have actually deleted the rest of my message when I sent the comment or if it's just a preview thing. For comparison in the preview of this topic as I write it, it doesn't delete anything. It just shows the heart as it should.

The forum/preview will read < 3 (without a space between) as the start of an HTML tag. Not seeing anything after it is completely normal. The "tag" hasn't been told to "close" with a >, so it still thinks it's parsing.

thank you! Not sure if this was fixed as well but I also noticed a similar problem with status. If you write a heart in your status using the < 3, in the friend feed, the rest of the message is cut off after the bracket. However it shows the full message in your user hover and in the sidebar where the status was written.

For example I had written "Thanks < 3 Happy Lumi!" as my status and in the friend feed it said I had changed my status to simply "Thanks" but my hover showed the full message. I since changed it to use an alt code heart ♥ so it would show in the friend feed.

Hopefully that makes sense.

Heads-up - this also happens in mails. The pointy brackets eat chunks of messages in s-mails. :c
