Basically I'm seeking help in training and weapons to hand raise my own battle pet. I adopted a pet named Duster and he recently passed the 30 day wait to actually battle. However he is a t1 a VERY baby t1... he can take on terserro and win! He however only ties with buttwing bomber.

So I'm asking for weapons advice and an idea aside from training until level needs expanded on stats.

Yeah, you might want to keep him training for a few more days before he's ready to pick more fights and win. For tiers 1 and 2 I use a mostly cheap weapons (because you'll outgrow them pretty quickly) and a couple expensive, 'always useful' weapons.

Expensive stuff: and are bobblehead collection prizes, and they scale with your pet's tier. The trident also transforms to a tier 8 weapon and is a wind block, so a lot of people like it. If you use them together one of them (The knocker I think) doesn't scale, so you might want to get one of them rather than both right now.

is MC summer stock and gives a 100% heal, so it's something that you'll get a lot of use out of.

Cheap stuff: I like bombs at low tiers because the fights often don't last long. Tier 1- Tier 2-

Regular attackers-

Back up healers- (this is also a stat booster, which is why it's expensive)

At tier 2 there's also a freezing weapon that's so-so-

You should also build up your pet's intellect because scrolls are incredibly useful. They're limited by you alchemy points rather than by your tier. is a good starter that provides block and a 5% heal and only uses 7 alchemy points. Because you have such low health when you first start out I find that having the block can be really helpful.

Don't forget dark potions! You can stuff as many as you want into your pet's paws and toss one out every turn. They each do 11 icons of damage of a single element.

Once you get Duster strong enough to get some wins on the likes of Buttwing, it's worth doing Battle Quests daily so you can start earning exp points to be able to train him up even faster. You'll only be able to do up to level 5 at first but one of the great things about BQs is that they're a great indicator of how well you're progressing and it's a fantastic feeling once you're able to fight at the next set of levels.

For the weapons right now you don't have to worry about the expensive stuff so you can start saving until you get up a few tiers. It's always useful to look out for alternate methods of getting weapons too. For example, during Masquerade you can save up your Steamwork Trinkets to get one of my favourite T5 weapons, Massaquerade (from 2010 so it might be retiring soon which is how we lost easy access to Gold Clockwork Grenade).

Now it's not one of the top T5 weapons, but I used it regularly up to T7 (together with Ol Blue) and all it took for me to get it was a few dances.

You can also get better weapons just by battling. When you defeat Aboxalypse you get a Basic Energized Blaster.

As you battle (and here's where the BQs help too) you get tokens to spend in the Battle Shop. At each level there are components you can use to combine with it at Genetech to make better and better weapons, some of the best you'll get. And it's free, because you earn all of this just by battling.

And of course plots. Plots are always great fun, but you can also get some amazing weapons out of them. Not always, but it's always an added bonus when you do. :)

Anyway, I hope I haven't blathered on about stuff you already know about...

Thank you both for insight and encouragement! I think I will keep an eye open for higher tier weapons on sale and earned from events. So far every so often I am getting a random stat win from scratch cards as well as hoping for an Oracle quest lol

I know I could sit here and whine like some others do about the process of growing a pet, but there's no fun of tracking progress or finding out how to beat limits by having it handed to you.

I'll be trying to remind myself about battle quests as I often forget about shinwa already.

I think there's a battle quest ping group you can join to help keep yourself reminded.
