Special Information

For those of you who don't know, I've been running a special event for the past several months now, called "Subeta's Next Top Designer". For each challenge, I give my designers a special challenge. And I don't mean just a standard item challenge! These are much more complex than that! At the end of the challenge, the best outfit is rewarded with a prize and the designer of the worst outfit LEAVES the challenge.

If you want to see what my designers have been up to, you can feel free to check out the event by joining my "Viewers group" at this link. There, you can see the new challenges, see the results, and make your own entries (though ineligible for a prize)!

For Christmas, however, I am putting up a VERY special challenge. ANYone may enter the challenge, including those who are currently competing in SNTD 2017, those who've been removed from the event (because they lost a challenge or failed to complete one), and those of you who are first hearing about SNTD today! The winner of the challenge will receive a prize as usual. HOWEVER, the top few entries (out of those people who are NOT currently participating in the event) will also have a special opportunity to join (or rejoin) SNTD 2017(-8)!

Challenge 8

Feel free to use this board to discuss this challenge amongst yourselves (if you wish) or ask questions about the challenge. You can also feel free to smail me if you have a questions that you don't want to ask in a visible way. This is ALSO where you should post your entries in the challenge. As I see them, I'll try to add them to the first post. Once your outfit is posted, you aren't allowed to make any changes to it. Also, make sure you don't delete it until the challenge has been judged, or I won't be able to judge yours, and you won't be eligible to win!

Your Task

The Magic of Christmas (Lights)

Doesn't Christmas just have a magical feel to it? And the most magical part of all are the beautiful, twinkling Christmas lights that frost the houses and trees and yards. Christmas lights (faerie lights for you British out there) are just so enchantingly spectacular!

For this challenge, I want you guys to capture the glittering magic that our lights bring to our holiday celebrations.

Specifics

Your HA must:

• feature lights and general glintiness, where the eye is drawn to the sparkle of the lights
• the rest of your HA design should be there to complement and move the eye towards the lights, and not away from them
• be made up of pieces that fit cleanly together into a complete image (rather than looking a bunch of items "thrown together" and pasted in)
• pay careful attention to all aspects of the image, including background
• be a balanced image, using all of the space

Feel free to make your overall design as humanoid or as abstract as you like. Throwing on a background item or two and calling it quits won't cut it... I want to see your creativity and attention to detail throughout your images. That doesn't mean you have to use 25 or 30 items... But 5 or 6 would also not be enough... :O
