Sometimes I just want to write something nice to my friends, without gifting them and I feel that comment/sMail is just not a nice way to send it..

It would be nice to have a Greeting Card/Postcard feature where we can choose a design like: Birthday Holidays Any other theme that it's not a special day but just a nice pics from Subeta's lands. and so on

Then we can just write what we want and send it to our friends :)

I noticed also that many users asking not to gift them so I think it can be a great way to share with them the holiday without giving them items, just kind words.

This already exists.

The Gift Center allows you to write to your recipient and the wrapping paper is nice so this kinda already exists.. You could just put a 1WT coin or something not-too-valuable inside. Or you could ping them to a specific topic where the greeting image is under a spoiler bar.

Maybe if there was wrapping paper that was more specific to what you want? Or if Subetalodge had some pre-made images?

Yes something like that or those greeting cards that you buy from the gift shops with a cute or funny picture..

To post on a public topic is not a good idea if they user want to keep it private. And the idea is to make it more colorful. funny, personal, to add some art to your text which is not the same with the gift wrapping which is just a text on a white background..

It would be cute and more thoughtful and personal than leaving someone a comment, or sending an s-mail. Or putting a junk item in a seasonally-wrapped giftbox. Maybe make it so the user can click to "flip" the postcard to see the message, or "open" the greeting card.

I have many SBQ invitations that I would like to gift, it can be a nice symbolic gift along with the card!

I'm not sure if people would prefer currency sending as a separate option, or if they'd like it to be tied into the greeting cards. Hopefully more users can give their opinion on that!

I really like this idea. It could function as another arm of the gift center. So when you first enter, you have the choice of sending a gift item, or just a card. If staff choose to incorporate sending currencies, this would be a potentially great venue for it as well, but even without currencies, I think this would be a lovely feature. The card itself could be displayed in your gift center next to the other item presents- but clicking on it brings up the full size front & back.

It might be difficult to implement, but what if there was a "make your own" card element? So you could choose one of the default designs (Subetan locations/pets, punny funnies, holiday themed, etc), or, you could enter a card builder. Maybe it would be a drag and drop sort of thing- where you could write text anywhere with one of a few fonts, drag in a pet image, plop in an image of a pickle, change the background color, etc. Or it could just similar to a meme generator online- pick your background picture, type in your desired display text, and decide on the colors. Subeta's normal harassment type rules would have to apply to the front so terrible people couldn't abuse it, obviously.

This would be so much fun! Another pet site added a greeting card feature a couple years ago and it was honestly the best. You could fully customize their cards with text, pictures of pets/avatars, and an assortment of default backgrounds/borders/images/fonts. Tons of players had a lot of fun sending cards back and forth to friends, family, etc. I don't play that site anymore and honestly its one of the only features I miss.

I don't think we really need that level of customization on Subeta, given the different nature of the site, but even just being able to add our own text to a bunch of different default cards would be awesome.

In RL the distinction you want to make is a thing. Here in Subeta where everything is virtual, the lack of actual item is not really that strong of a distinction if the thing you want is as elaborate as you now describe.

There's a "more thorough gift blocking' thread in Suggestions. If this card feature gets implemented, it should be every bit as blockable.

It would be a nice addition. I would personally use it. Especially because I am just fond of subeta pets. If it could be listed with the gifts I think it is fine. But yes it should be subject to being included in the blocking rule. Or leave it where the gifts from friends only applies to it as well.

Oh I think this is a really cute idea, I would use it.. so long as we can still be able to be anonymous because I think a lot of people would love a cute lil card from a random person every now and then. I get that we have the gift center and while yeah it's nice to send items.. sometimes I feel like I'm spamming people with things when I really just want to send them a message to brighten their day! Even if the item is just a 1 point wizard token I still feel like I'm spamming them, but that might just be me haha.

Also going to agree that yes it should be a part of the blocking system for those that don't want to receive such things.

Aww, this would be a cute addition to the gift centre! ^^ But yeah people should be able to turn the feature off if they don't want to receive them since people could spam with it.

I'm all for this being something on site! Really like the idea of having the option to send a post/card instead of gifts/comments/mail, if we wanted to. I'd use it!

Would absolutely L O V E if we would be able to attach currencies to the cards too (something like red envelopes, please~ ❤️). "But, why not boxes?" Man, I don't want to send a box of cash! (briefcase, maybe. ha.) Plus, we can't do money in gift boxes right now, which leaves buying a ton of little vouchers, trades, and buying from a person's shop. It's not a spontaneous surprise if you have to do that. :(

Another site I mess around on added a little card that you can draw on for their advent and then share with your friends. I... did not do much with it (since it's pretty much a one-off thing), but I thought that it was a fun and cute idea.
