Hi all! I've been on Subeta for about a year now, but I've only been active again recently. Although I've had this account for a while I've never really made attempts to be social, and with the new year coming up I think I want to change that. It's been years since I've posted on a forum and I'm pretty nervous. But everyone here seems very nice and I have a little courage so today I'm going to make my very first post! My friend first invited me a year ago, so I am a little familiar with Luminaire as they walked me through it back then. I didn't actually think I'd stick around as long as I did (hence my pets' silly names (which I do plan to change as soon as I can, haha)) but I grew pretty attached to the site! I was absent for a while but I've come back recently and have begun exploring the site more and I've even invited some of my friends.

Not entirely sure what to say about myself. I draw occasionally, I used to watch quite a bit of anime when I was in school but I'm not familiar with much of what's new. My only other hobby is... maybe Force of Will, but I haven't messed with it in a while. I also sometimes play video games but that's pretty normal. From now on I do hope to be more active, I've really enjoyed my time on Subeta so far and I'm excited to finally reach out to the forums! Happy to meet you all :)

Hi, ! :) I know how you feel. I never did a greeting post and for the longest time only wandered into the forums for events or the occasional avatar game, and rarely, very rarely because I just felt like posting something.

It's definitely a different experience once you start getting active in the forums though...

(I hope it's all right to ping you guys, I'm not quite sure how to go about replying directly yet?) I mostly draw fanart and furry art, I haven't checked all of the other forums yet but I'll be sure to do so! :D And thank you for the links, especially the newbies one as I did find some things I didn't know about or forgot about haha!

Glad I'm not the only one! I've been eyeing the Luminaire forum topics for a while now and have wanted to participate but I thought I should start off with an introduction. (Plus, if I make a mistake at least I did it in a place it's expected.)

And for the record, as far as I'm aware there's no problem with pinging someone as long as it's not done excessively. I personally find it easier to keep track of what threads I've posted in if someone replies to me with a ping.

Ping works perfectly fine ;) If for any occasion you feel the need to communicate slightly less publically, maybe having some chit chat with your friends or buying/selling something, you can use profile comments - those are still available for public view if someone really wanted to stalk you down.

A sMail is the most private means of communication, but generally speaking it's usually for things that require discretion, eg. planning a birthday surprise or if you're making a commission and the artist prefers a sMail so they don't lose your info or whatnot.

Most people would be fine with a ping, especially as it helps you come back to a conversation if you've wandered off after making a post :)
