I've noticed that there are plenty of "increase this/these stat(s) and do better". Are there any that require a stat or two to NOT increase? For example a berserker-type item whose icons increases with a higher strength or tier, but decrease with a higher defense. Or a specific case I thought would be funny - a high tier weapon, "the pen," which deals massive icons with super low strength. (It would need to be enough to compensate for the lost DPI.)
Not breaking from traditional "bigger is better builds", but rather borrowing from League of Legends, maybe an item that deals icons as a percentage of a stat (ie. 5% of health or defense).
Edit: just thought of another feature - scrolls or weapons that do something negative to all but a specific color or breed of pet. For example, a weapon that requires a "blood sacrifice" of -5%, but since bloodred pets clearly bathe in their enemies' blood, the have plenty to offer without being damaged themselves. Galactic pets could obviously survive the harshes of space - radiation, lack of oxygen. Reborn would shrug off the flames from an out of control fire weapon.
It could even go so far as to recognize attached minions, items in treasure chests, and wardrobe items. 10% bonus icons (or damage) for minions of a similar type as the attack. Treasure chest items could function the same as "equipped with" set, but without wasting a slot on a weapon that may not even see use. Weapons that are part of clothing line could perform better while the user (not pet) is wearing the rest of the set.
