Fantine has been really enjoying the spotlight lately, which has led to a fantastic rise in bakers who come in throngs to learn under her tutelage. She enjoys teaching and guiding young bakers and realized that she needs a place to store and try all the new recipes her friends are bringing to her. Thus This new baking group is affiliated with Fantine's Bakery and brought to you by her staff, the bakers of Fantine's kitchen. Contributors are based from their own kitchens with their own helping staff or simply themselves. ** Without further ado, Fantine's Bakers bring to you a wonderful place to gather and share baking recipes, successes, disastrous failures, and chat about the scrumptious items baked.

Rules are simple ❤️ Be respectful and kind. ❤️ Only post and chat about baked foods, i.e. breads, pastries, desserts (brownies, pies, cakes, scones, etc.), crackers, and more related to aforementioned. For the intent and purpose of this thread, we will not discuss pizzas, casseroles, twice baked foods (like potatoes), or other savory type foods that are also traditionally baked. ❤️ Only ONE recipe post a week with one small picture. Any other pictures must be put inside spoilers. ❤️ Please keep recipe posts organized by using the code provided below. ❤️ Please join the forum group Knead to Bake and Share. # knead2bake Breaking of the rules will result in being asked to refrain from posting within the group. You will also not be allowed to participate in any giveaways, contest, or be able to purchase group exclusive items (should there be any created).

Comments or Suggestions If applicable, use this section to give ideas on altering the recipe or describing difficulties a baker may run into with useful solutions.

**Opening statements are for whimsical enjoyment -- this is not an official group of Fantine. and are admin moderators of this thread. However, everyone and anyone can post and chit chat about their fav recipes or latest yummy-finds in a bakery. Anything relating to baked goods is game for conversation pieces. Again, you do not need to bake or have recipes to share in order to have fun chatting on this thread. The recipes you post do not have to be new or invented recipes. You can post your grandmother's favorite chocolate chip cookie, or a random bread recipe you found on the internet that you loved -- anything goes. c:

Caution, this topic thread may cause you to gain weight - chat at your own risk. ^_^

Here is a recipe I stole from my super amazing and kindly and lovely sister - it's my FAVORITE ever!!!

“Pkindoodle” Snickerdoodle Cookie
Introducing my very own pumpkin spiced snickerdoodle - I call my creation a Pkindoodle (Pee-kIn-doodle) cookie – a mix of pumpkin pie and snickerdoodle cookies.

Cookie Ingredients ½ c butter, softened ¾ c granulated sugar ¾ c brown sugar, packed tight 2 tsp vanilla extract 1 c pumpkin puree 2 ¾ c flour 2 tsp baking powder ½ tsp salt 1 ½ tsp cream of tartar ½ tsp nutmeg ¼ tsp cloves 2 tsp cinnamon

Rolling ingredients ¼ c sugar ¼ c raw (turbinado) sugar 2 tsp cinnamon

Icing Ingredients Splash of Vanilla 2 c Powdered sugar (plus more if needed) 2-4 Tbsp Milk (or soymilk) - may need more milk

Directions

  1. In a large bowl, cream together butter and sugars until fluffy. Add vanilla and pumpkin, mixing until just combined. Add dry ingredients and mix well.
  2. Wrap dough in plastic wrap and store in refrigerator overnight (or for at least 2 hours).
  3. Preheat oven to 350°F. Spay cooking sheets with PAM (or other non-stick oil spray).
  4. Combine rolling ingredients - cinnamon and sugars - in a small bowl.
  5. Use a spoon to help you roll a portion of the dough into a small (1” in diameter) ball. Place the dough ball into the bowl with the cinnamon sugar mixture in it and roll in mixture, coating completely. Repeat with remaining dough balls.
  6. Space dough balls 2-inches apart on a baking sheet, bake for 12 minutes or until edges are golden. Cool 5 minutes on baking sheet before moving cookies to a cooling rack.
  7. Mix icing ingredients together until icing is desired consistency. Use a fork to drizzle icing on top of the cookies.

Comments or Suggestions Enjoy!

Thank you kindly for the invite, but in RL I do not create recipes and follow only the ones that are tried and true, sorry.

The recipes you post do not have to be new, unique, or invented recipes. You can post your grandmother's favorite chocolate chip cookie or a random bread recipe you found on the internet that you loved -- anything goes. c:

Or if all you like to do is eat good cookies, pies, or other baked goods and enjoy talking about it, then this also is a place perfect for you. ^_^

I want this to be an all-inclusive baking group, so if you think it does not fit with you, you are probably wrong. Unless you hate all forms of baked goods -- then you are right. LOL ;)

Oh, cornbread can be so tricky! I was actually thinking about making some because it is getting cold here and I really love cornbread and honey on cold days.

Also, my mom makes these really good cornbread dumplings. You make a stew or soup and put the batter on top of the stew, right near the end. Cover and steam the dumplings until they rise and finish cooking all the way. Oh, my goodness those are heavenly.

Have you ever had dumplings on soup like that?

Sweet Cornbread

Ingredients 1 cup flour 1 cup yellow cornmeal 2/3 cup sugar 1 teaspoon salt 3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder 1 egg 1 cup milk 1/3 cup vegetable oil 1 can of drained corn (optional)

Directions Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Spray or lightly grease (butter recommended) a 9 inch round cake pan.

In a large bowl, combine flour, cornmeal, sugar, salt and baking powder. Stir in egg, milk and vegetable oil (plus drained corn if desired) until well combined. Pour batter into prepared pan.

Bake in preheated oven for 20 to 25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the loaf comes out clean.

Comments or Suggestions I've made this cornbread so much for my family that I've memorized the recipe. It's a sweeter cornbread. I prefer it with corn added but it's just as good without. Depending on your tastes, you might sub the 2/3 cup sugar for 1/3 white sugar + 1/3 cup brown sugar.

Oh my goodness, and perfect timing to share this! did you see this delicious looking recipe? I need to make this and try it. I've been looking for the perfect recipe for ages. I have gone through so many but I just do not like dry cornbread and most are super dry.

hugs thank you for posting a recipe!
