In May, I reported with a ticket that I had a lot of forum titles I hadn't earned. My whole list was cleared, I used the 'claim titles' function on the achievement page and all was good... for a while. The last time I changed my title around Keel hauliday, I didn't notice any extra titles, but I just went to change my title into one of the new Morostide titles, I realised I have some extras again, like Birch Please and Blinded with Science.

I had my list cleared again and it's correct now, but I thought I'd report this here for tracking purposes and in case someone notices the same error.

Yeah this is still an issue. After claiming titles for the new Morostide achievements, I noticed I now have quite a few titles that I shouldn't have.

I'm not sure what's causing it, but this is definitely something that should be looked into. Especially if it keeps happening whenever we go to claim new titles that we get.

I'll get my list cleared eventually, but I'd kind of like to make sure this gets fixed for good first so I don't have to keep making tickets about it.

I noticed this a few weeks ago but I just stick with titles I know I own and I rarely change mine... but still it is very weird.

i filed my third ticket for unearned titles early this month and am doing my best to avoid having to file a fourth, but yeah. i know that the layout takes priority but this is still really annoying p:

I've given up submitting tickets to get this fixed. For years I keep getting the single pet and the 20 pet ones, neither of which I've ever earned.

I simply don't use those titles. But I'm not sure if I have other titles I don't deserve. Its way too much of a hassle to look back and forth through my achievement page to confirm if I actually own that title.

That was weird. I went to the titles pages to check, and got a bunch of Title Collector achievements (which I already had), but the single pet and 20 pet titles are now gone :)

Yep, this is still happening. I just checked and I have the Unbe-leaf-able title but not the achievement (I might have others too - that one was just quick & easy to check...)

Ok, I checked again after seeing Lypsyl's post, and I don't have the 1 pet and 20 pet titles (nor the achievements). Might be I only have the newer ones that were released after my titles were last cleared.

...edit 2: Nah, I do have the 'lots of pets' type titles after all, but not the 'room for one' for some reason.

At least for me, it's not that I was getting the achievements awarded, just that the forum titles would show up in my list erroneously (usually after going to claim titles after earning a lot of new ones at once, like when new achievements are added during site events).

I guess we can see if it happens again for some people whenever new winter/Luminaire achievements get added soon-ish, since there will likely be some new titles with those.

i don't get the achievements awarded, just the forum titles. it only happens when i visit other peoples' achievement pages, and they have titles i don't. i visited your achievement page for the steele excavations plot (which i missed entirely, so i know for sure i do not have those achievements) and am now able to use the title "junior archaeologist" (which you have, and i did not).

i think my ticket is still open so i guess i can ask for that one to be removed again in a bit p;

Yeah, the issue isn't earning extra achievements we shouldn't have, but that we are getting forum titles for achievements we don't have credit for. The forum titles are the problem, not the achievements.

Oh, I didn't realize it was related to visiting other people's achievement pages. Hopefully that info can help them isolate what the problem is and be able to fix it.

I'd still like to be able to see other people's achievements, since it can be helpful during events when you're trying to help your friends get certain achievements like the dancing, kissing, etc. It'd be nice to do it without accidentally getting a bunch of extra titles though.

i mean, i can't actually confirm that that's the problem, but it's still happening and seems to be the most likely cause so idk. i felt like a rube during morostide 'cause i was swapping eggs/tp with a friend and i kept asking for updates on their achievements instead of checking their page myself, but i really, really didn't want to file another ticket, haha

It's worth looking into though at least, because I was viewing a lot of people's achievement lists during Morostide as well, to update the list for a forum group I'm in of who still needed the egg & TP achievements. And it was after claiming the titles for some of the new Morostide achievements that I noticed I had a bunch of incorrect titles in my list, and pretty much the same time as this forum thread was made.

I think I had a few incorrect titles before, but I had a lot more after viewing other achievement lists (which I don't really do often), so it would make sense if that was the problem.

Just curious before I click it, but should that also work for titles that aren't tied to achievements? Like the ones from some of the recent quest-a-thons?
