It would be very useful if items newly added to the vault remained unsorted, rather than automatically stacking with identical items that were already in the vault. That way, we can tell whether items actually appeared in our vault after being moved there.
I encountered a problem this week due to lag on the site where items that I quickstocked into my vault from my legacy shop took 3 days to appear and then when they did appear, I did not know it, because they auto-stacked with other items that were already in categories.
As things are set now, if I were to say move 100 unique items into my vault via quickstock and wanted to be sure that they actually appeared in my vault, it would be exhausting to ascertain. I'd have to first search for each individual item in my vault and note how many I already have of each and then I'd have to do it all over again after using quickstock.
Unfortunately this isn't feasible to do because of how the vault stores items. To do this would require a lot of extra code to handle merging stacks and splitting them apart, and would cause vaults to be even larger (as in, take up more data) and less efficient. I don't want to say this will never happen, but for now it's not feasible. Sorry.
