Who else is pumped to see this movie?! 8D

also, there are 3 short films you can find on youtube set between the original and the sequel (2022: Black Out, 2036: Nexus Dawn, and 2048: Nowhere to Run) that the director got other people to make to help bridge the gap about the events which happened before the sequel :3
my favorite is the one with Dave Bautista (2048) ;___;
because I think you would see this movie?
I will see it, but I'm not asdfkl;j over it...is that terrible to admit? I liked the first one and think it has some interesting and valuable things to say, but I'm not waiting in line to see this one, I don't think.
Tell me how it is! :D
I dunno if it's just dystopias aren't always my thing (even though I know you <3 them)~
@ lirikai Oh man, I'm worried it won't live up to the original. I mean Denis Villeneuve doesn't necessarily do crap movies (Enemy was nice, so was Prisoners, Sicario was okay, and I still haven't seen Arrival which everyone was raving about; also is he doing a remake of Dune? lmao, good luck to him) but I'm worried it will be a standard this is the villain and this is the hero basically superhero without the powers movie. :X
You never know, could be as amazing a dystopian film as Mad Max: Fury Road. ;D (okay, I highly doubt it but I can hope ;__; )
I'll let you know! c:
edit : updaaaate time!
oh boy, you were right to take a pass save yourself the money and 3 hours of your life and just watch the trailer lmao it pales to the original idk what they were thinking pacing was hella off too and I say this having seen season 3 of twin peaks where there were some really extended scenes lol so I have the patience of an angel when it comes to movie scenes half way through I was like I would prefer to watch the remake of Jumanji like what is this even --- if I had more time and willpower, I'd rewatch mad max for what a proper sequel should look and feel like :X /dead inside
okay, rant over =___=
I absolutely loved it. i thought that it was one of the most beautiful movies i'd ever seen. Visually stunning...and the light..omg..the lighting director did a great job...the way they always had the water light over head in that one building...umph...stunning! the direction was great...the way they tied everything together....i can't say it any better than i just absolutely loved it!

It's amazing, it's gorgeous, it's got a beautiful soul, see it in IMAX.
Love love love. I've seen it twice in theaters already.
I saw it and it was beautiful, wonderful cinematography and soundtrack. Acting was fine (I'll never not be in love with Robin Wright lol). If I had seen Gosling in anything besides Drive I might be more impressed haha.
I have a lot of opinions about the general plot and the writing and use of female characters in the film but I want to see it again to really understand what the movie is doing well and poorly. It was long as fuck and hard to think back over after just one viewing. Am I just a grumpy old man now if I say it could have been 45 minutes shorter? Hehehe.
I'm not thrilled with some of the stuff it does, I think it's telling us a story that has heavy, fascinating and complex moral implications (good for it, the previous movie and the source material are all really great scifi when it comes to those bigger concepts) but at the same time felt held back by a desire to tantalize the audience. I want to see it again so I can really analyze what scenes I think are great and which seem unnecessary or contradictory. Example: the whole concept of replicants being slave labor is naturally one we the audience are supposed to dislike and be sympathetic towards those stuck in this system, yet the movie ignores ideas of possessing others as bad since the main character owns a digital woman who exists purely to give the main dude someone to feel emotions over... there is nothing to suggest this isn't bad, only prostitues commenting he doesn't like "real girls" which idk how to interpret that? IDK I gotta watch it again! At least the worldbuilding of this universe is in-depth and well thought out enough to have all these thoughts.
OK I've never seen the original and as someone with ADHD, I didn't get fidgety until the last half hour which is like a record for me.
I really enjoyed it. However I def feel like there was a lot of unnecessary boobage in there. I got boobs. I didn't need to see so many. And they were nippless? I felt like there was a big push for nakedness that was very unnecessary.
Storywise. Really good. I really enjoyed it and it took a bit to get the storyline, but not too long. Was able to follow without seeing the original.
Omg I also thought that- we saw sooooo many nipples, how much tantalizing tits did they have to add in? xD It was, after the third woman's naked breasts being shoved into my eyeballs, a little excessive. At least akward, because the rest of the film seemed to be handled with intention and subtlety, and yet...
