I feel silly asking, because I usually play MMOs solo anyways, but does anyone play GuildWars2? A friend roped me into getting the game and insisted they were on all the time, but apparently "all the time" means like "maybe once a month for an hour". I'm just wondering if anyone else is on the SOS server, at least for the sake of smalltalk once in a while.

Server actually only matters for WvW! Otherwise you can play together with anyone from any server. :D I haven't played GW2 for a while. The new expansion kind of makes me want to play again but I don't know if I want to lose myself to the game again. I find it difficult to play in moderation...

No worries. I have to say, that I'm still fairly new to a lot of the aspects of the game, since I'm mostly running around by myself when I'm on. I promise I won't suck either of you guys into the gaming abyss (not on purpose anyways). XD I'll have to look up my username.

I just started playing gw2 again after making a human engineer. I don't own any of the expansion packs (though the mounts are tempting). I'm going to check out the halloween events. 🎃

i've been playing gw2 since very near launch, and i can wholeheartedly recommend Path of Fire, but i would definitely wait until you've hit level 80 on at least one of your characters and have gotten at least moderately comfortable with some of the endgame content. in the month and a half since it came out i can attest that PoF has been way more engaging and fun than the previous expac, Heart of Thorns, but if you end up really getting into the game, i'd suggest getting HoT, too. the fun doesn't truly start until you hit 80! that's when the game REALLY opens up.

I've been playing GW2 for about 3 years now and it's definitely my favorite game. It was also my first MMO.

And yeah, the game is so much fun once you've reached lvl 80. The expansions only make it better. Despite my personal issues with parts of the story, HoT and PoF were both great. I mostly play solo so there are some activities I still haven't tried out. I'm actually going to be doing my 1st Raid Training in a few days so I'm excited to learn how to do that.

These days I normally spend most of my time farming mats/gold for crafting, creating characters, or achievement hunting.

I haven't played that in a loooooong time haha. Don't have any of the expansions but I got my game before the base one was f2p. :p

I play MMOs solo too. So it's kind of nice that GW2 lets me kit out my character in some nice equipment without having to engage in group play.
