This has been suggested before (kind of), but the last thread is over a year old, and I'd really love it if it could happen. The Pet Friends feature really needs an update/overhaul.

Right now, you can only remove friends from your pets or add new ones. There's no way to change the order of the friends, or if you add a new friend it goes right to the end of the list. And I don't know about everyone else, but I'd really like to be able to at least change the order of the way the pets appear without having to remove a bunch of pets and re-add them all.

I'd also like to see the ability to edit the descriptions of Friends without having to remove everything that comes after.

I would also like to be able to have some control over who adds my pets, ideally in the form of accepting/rejecting pet friend requests. Or even disabling pet friend requests as an option, like we can do with the spotlight nominations.

I'm a nosy hag and I want to know which pets have added my pets to their lists. x)

wow yeah that is definitely a thing that should happen. seems like it's been a long time since the pet friends function has received any attention (if ever after its creation). idk if there's something about the current setup that makes this impossible, but i would hope there's something that can be done.

edit bc i forgot the rest of my post like a fool after i saw the bit about disabling requests -- literally any update to pet friends would be welcome. either editing descriptions or reordering, preferably both but reordering would be ok by itself i think. like, obvs both is ideal but speaking for myself, i wouldn't mind having to delete + re-add if i could just move the friend into the correct position on the list.

Being able to reorder and edit would be great.

And yes to being able to reject and/or completely disable pet friends too. If this is added, it'd also be great if we could see which pets have already been added, and be able to retroactively reject already existing pet friends.

I am down for all of the suggestions. It would be nice if they could get an over-haul to actually be useful and functional because they are a neat idea and was really quite popular when it first came out.

I have a suggestion! Would it be possible to add some kind of a class / other selector to the names of the pets in the friends section, so they can be styled with CSS easily? This is a feature that'd be fairly easy to implement, and would be helpful for differentiating the name from the customized text/descriptions.

I do like the suggestion to be able to accept/reject pet friend requests as well, so I hope that's something can do.

The ability to disable the feature would be good too, or maybe disabling outside pet friending... like you can add pets from your own account, but no one else can add you, Most of my pets are from within their own universes and wouldn't want to be friends with anyone else, but they would want to have the friends from their own story listed.

So, staff don't want us to have control over who can friend our pets? That makes no sense to me. I'd love to hear the reasoning behind this.

I have some pets I wouldn't mind being friends with others, but I don't want to be in the dark about who is adding them. And I want to be able to reject pet friends, if I'm not happy with it for some reason.

And this is another reason why we should have more control over who can add our pets. Several users have OC pets like this, and don't want "outsiders" friending them. The same thing came up last time the option to reject pet friends was requested.

No, I understood that you can't give a yes or no. I just hope it's not a request that's going to get turned down. The pet friends system really needs an overhaul.
