If your pet has a Minion, then pretty soon its happiness goes to 10 and sticks there.

That's great in terms of not needing to buy toys, and for battling, but what if you want to do Major Drills quests? He often tells me to give my pet an item to play with, and I can't! Even if I took the minion away from my pet, then their happiness wouldn't go down in time for me to use a toy before the hour is up. (I think.) And there's an Achievement for playing with toys, which I would also like to get at some point.

However, if having a Minion only raised a pet's happiness to 9, then we'd still get all the benefits of Minions (pet happiness high enough to battle) but also get the benefit of "pet is able to play with toys when required".

Does that sound like a useful feature?

This would make it so you have to play with your pets whether or not you like to do Drills. Subeta has never required players to feed or play with their pets.

Drills is random and can ask you to play with toys multiple times, so by the same logic Minions should be made to have your pets a Happiness of 5 why pick 9?

Part of doing Drills is following instructions and planning ahead, because for some of them order is important and he doesn't hold your hand you have to refresh to get the 'complete' button. Plan ahead by having a pet without a Minion.

So that's why pet happiness never seems to drop!

I think it shouldn't stop the happiness meter from dropping, but instead slow it down quite a bit. Maybe twice as slow? Thrice?

It doesn't sound like a solution... like pointed out, you can be asked to play with toy multiple times on a quest, so what then? It's ok if someone has numerous pets with 9/10 happiness, but some people have only one or two. Dropping slowly is a no from me too - cause then what, replacing minion entirely? Some of them are super expensive.

Just keep one pet without a minion at all for the purpose of Drills.

yeah there's no reason you HAVE to give all your pets minions, and if you're committed to doing so for whatever reason (characters, aesthetics, etc) then just skip those major drills quests.

also i don't know of any achievements for having a pet play with toys aside from the one for having a pet play with a r99 toy, which you only need to do once to fulfill so you can just remove your pet's minion, wait however long it takes for their happiness to drop to 9, use the toy, then put the minion back, and you never need to use another toy again ever in your life.

I'm fine with it only going up to 9.

Although I would also like the resorts to not fully feed pets.. although I guess it wouldn't really make sense haha.

The best way to be happy with someone is to learn to be happy alone. That way company will be a matter of choice, and not a necessity.

It's not my minion's job to make my pet happy. Virtually speaking, it's unrealistic of my pet to be Max happy 24/7.

Agreement on Drills without purposely leaving a pet miserable for the sake of doing drills.
